santacruz Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 I asked awhile back about saltwater and freshwater reels, forgot to aks about the rods. Will saltwater ruin my rods.Is washing them off after enough? Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted March 2, 2010 Super User Posted March 2, 2010 If you don't wash them off, you might as well send them to me now... Like anything, if you take care of it you'll be fine. Generally hosing it down really thoroughly should do you. If you're worried about it, a mild soap should do just fine. Just make sure you rinse it completely off. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted March 3, 2010 Super User Posted March 3, 2010 I seldom rinse the rods down. If you are using a cheap rod the guides will corrode, but not on a decent rod. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted March 3, 2010 Super User Posted March 3, 2010 Rinse never soak and use pledge on blanks to keep them looking new. Quote
trevor Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Rinse. Wash quickly with handsoap. Rinse. DRY WELL. On some (especially expensive rods), water drops will leave ugly water marks thats are super hard to remove. Quote
