Rich Tehan Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I'm looking to get a 6' or less casting rod with a pistol grip styled handle. This will be for short casts and skipping. Does anyone know who makes a rod like this? or, does anyone use a rod like this? Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted March 3, 2010 Super User Posted March 3, 2010 as far as i know a lot of rods are still made with this option. Quote
Madd Lunacy Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 BPS makes pistolgrips in that length. I used to have a couple 5' 6" Bionic Blades. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted March 3, 2010 Super User Posted March 3, 2010 I use pistol grips in the 5'6" and 6' lengths. I have a Chatterbait rigged on one and a spinnerbait rigged on another now. Quote
GatorBait Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I have a gl3 cr 663 and i absolutely love it! Unfortunately they are no longer produced. They do however make a spinnerbait series rod that has a relatively short rear handle. St. croix avid series makes a pistol grip. I dont know how you are about your tackle but the berkley's lightning rod pistol grip is a fantastic rod for the price! they make 5'6" and 6' that have a fast taper and are very stout and will only run you about 38$. Super User cart7t Posted March 3, 2010 Super User Posted March 3, 2010 IIRC, Allstar has a Team rod in a pistol. I have an old Bionic Blade, IM6 rod I've had for years. Love it. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted March 3, 2010 Super User Posted March 3, 2010 St Croix only makes the pistol grip in the Premier line now, and only 1 rod, a 5'6" Medium power/Fast action. Quote
Rich Tehan Posted March 3, 2010 Author Posted March 3, 2010 Thanks guys I use pistol grips in the 5'6" and 6' lengths. I have a Chatterbait rigged on one and a spinnerbait rigged on another now. Nice, what brand are they? I think I'm leaning toward the bionic blade, because I like my bionic blade trigger rod a lot, I didnt' realize it came in pistolgrip. Quote
