Hey all,

I have not used mono line in years. This year I am thinking about introducing it back into the line-up for top waters etc. I bought some Trilene Maxx (12 lb.) the other night and spooled one of my casting reels with it. VERY difficult to work with. I used alot of KVD L+L on it, and I hope that will make a difference. Anyone use this line on a regular basis?

Any suggestions on the "best" mono out there is greatly appreciated!!!!!

I only use Suffix Mono lines Elite & Seige.  Really good lines with a good amount of flex and strentgh.

2-10 lb. i use P-line cxx , anything above that i use Izorline XXX . gonna try P-line CX soon . :)

X2 Pline. CX Premium 12# was suggested to me for my new reel. I'm very impressed with how it casts. Just need it to warm up here so I can put it to use.

If you are familiar with Trilene XL and XT mono lines, then this can help...

Elite can be likened to XL. It seems limper. I wouldn't mind using it where abrasion resistance is a requirement. I'd use it for finesse, topwater and anywhere I might deal with open water or very little cover.

Siege can be likened to XT. It seems to be more abrasion resistant. I would prefer this for heavier cover. I use siege for all around and crankbaits in 10# test.

Both are awesome. I have never seem a mono line resist memory as well as either line. Not only that, it is reasonably priced which translates to great bang for the buck.

Sufix done did right with these two lines. 8-)

They have a camo version? Well, I'd "never" buy it anyway. If I put it down in the bush, I might not find it.   ;D Just kidding. I'm going to have check some local shops to see if the have it. Camo. Now that's awsome.

Yep, there is a reason it is the number one seller year after year in this area. Excellent line and a great price. You can't beat $7.99 for a 900 yard spool.

Pline CX copoly usually 8-20lb test... I have a spincast I bring along as a backup with 14 lb mono but the reel is on its way out so I only use it as backup.

Pline has replaced almost anything I previously used with mono. I even have my main panfish setup with 6lb test of Pline CX

I was looking to make a change this season from Berkley High Vis. Mainly due to lime memory coiling. BPS salesman suggested Suffix Seige in 10#. I took a shot and was very dissipointed. My line was parting on hookups and basic cast. I went with P-line CX. No problems with P-line CX 10#.

That sucks Captain!  But, I havent had any problems with Suffix, knock on wood.

I have used P-line's copoly stuff, very nice.  Good alternative to Yo-Zuri.

X2, Suffix is all I use for monofilament also.  It is strong and it has little memory.
