BPS Carbonlite vs. Shimano Compre vs. St. Croix Mojo

I'm looking to purchase a couple 6'6" MH Fast action rods to be used for 5/8 oz spinnerbaits and top water, as well as the occasional senko. I've managed to narrow my search down to these three rods and I can get all three for about the same price ($80 each), but am unsure which rod to get. There are no BPS stores anywhere near me, so I will never be able to to handle a Carbonlite before I buy one. I will be putting a Revo STX and a Citica 200e on the rods. I appreciate the input.

I cant offer any advice on the shimano rod, but the carbonlite and mojo are great rods for the money. I just got a 7'mh carbonlite with an e7 for my new trap rig, and it works very well. I also have a few mojo rigs worm jig and crankbait that work great. Good luck with whatever you get.

I just picked up a Carbonlite 6'9"MHXF today- they are good looking rods. Obviously I haven't fished with it yet but one thing is certain- this thing is amazingly light...

I can offer advice on the Compre as I have that same model. They make this model in a MH with a either a F or an XF tip. The one I got has the fast tip and makes and EXCELLENT spinnerbait rod. I'm using it for jigs and t-rigs currently with plans to buy another one just like it for making a dedicated spinnerbait rod.

Right now though I only have one of the rods in that specific model and I needed a rod that had the sensitivity to feel even the slightest bite for bottom fishing so I'm using it for the jigs and t-rigs and getting by with something else for spinnerbaits until I can afford another MH Compre. However I have fished spinnerbaits on mine since I got it and it's a really great rod for this. Has all the power you'll need but also is light in weight so you are not tired by it as well as being very sensitive to feeling the bait bumping wood stucture or rocks and being able to tell the difference between the two. Since I began using a Compre rod I have became spoiled to how good these rods can be. So much so that I now compare every other rod I see to the Compre.

And if you found the Shimano Compre for $80 you need to jump on it. That rod has a lifetime warranty and I'm paying $100 for the same models new. Are the ones you are getting used or something?? Where are they that cheap??

also, I called them and *** has a lifetime over the counter replacement for the shimano rods. all you have to pay for is shipping to them.

I have the mojo rod and I hate it.

It felt great in the store and I had high hopes for it.

But after I put my reel on it (which I should have done in the store) and fished it about a dozen times I now hate it.

It is very tip heavy. The blank is thick but semi light.

I was interested in getting the carbonlite so I went to check it out yestarday with my reel this time.

Wow that thing is light! It feels great in the hands and I cant wait to buy it and use it.

30" on snow on the ground here so I'm going to hold off on buying it right away.

It has a great price too!

My only experience regarding the three you mentioned, are with the Shimano. I have used the 'compre' (owned by a friend) which is a crankbait set up. A wonderful feel and much backbone. Good luck!

I did look at all tese rods today, and I did walk out with the Carbonlite! Very nice rod!
