Super User .dsaavedra. Posted January 21, 2008 Super User Posted January 21, 2008 havent used either, but i can tell you the lucky craft will be much better made. i have heard good things about the lucky craft and i have heard good and not so good things about the strike king. sorry i dont have any info on either. as far as colors go, i like shad colors, and since youre in MI maybe a perch color would work if they had it? Super User Tin Posted January 22, 2008 Super User Posted January 22, 2008 You can find much better ones than these two. Quote

LCpointerKILLA Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I like the LC Real California, but I hated my strike king King Shad. It's hinges broke and the lure split in half on the first fish I caught with it. I reeled in half the lure. I have never owned a King Kong, but if it has the same hinges, I wouldn't go near it. Quote
Randall Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 The Lucky craft with the lip like in the photo above is only good as a topwater wake type bait fished really slow. It a good bait but only if you want a small wake bait that you can fish slow on the surface. The other Lucky Crafts including the new one aren't worth the money. The King Kong is a decent bait and I have caught some big fish on it but there are way better baits out there for the same price or for a little more. I have three King Kongs and none of them hit the water at all last year since I found and bought much better baits to use. If you want to use the BPS card and get some swimbaits then you might want to consider some Storm Kick'n Minnows. They are cheap baits but they work better than the other's when fished below the surface. Quote
SBM-RL Posted January 22, 2008 Author Posted January 22, 2008 NEW Castaic Soft Bait Rock Hard Platinum Series Swimbaits Mike Long's Signature Series swimbaits combine his expertise and Castaic's experience with soft baits to create a segmented, hard-bodied lure sure to bring in the bass! Hydrodynamically engineered for the most lifelike swimming action possible. Pre-rigged with a treble hook. Any reveiws on this one? What would you say the best one for $30 is regardless of where its sold. Quote
LCpointerKILLA Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 looks great, but I would hate to buy a trout swimbait, even though I'm pretty sure it is the action that triggers a bass to strike. It is a confidence thing. The big bass where I live feed on Tilapia, bluegill, red ear, and shad. I just can't buy a swimbait that looks like a trout. Last week I almost bought a huddleston deluxe, but I didn't. Pretty soon I will buy one and see if it works here. You should beat me to it and buy a trout swimbait and see if it works! John Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted January 22, 2008 Super User Posted January 22, 2008 Listen to Randall. I have taken dumps that are worth more money than the Castaic Rock Hard and LC. $30 hardbait? well, thats kind of tough, but one of THESE Wouldn't be too bad. Quote
Mattlures Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Bizz I like you! you should run for govenor. You actualy tell it like it is. You crack me up. I Have to bite my tounge when guys ask about baits that I know suck. You and Randall are a great resource Slammers are a bit more but they are good hardbaits. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted January 22, 2008 Super User Posted January 22, 2008 Well, in that case I am now accepting campaign contributions ;D yeah I would WAAAAAY rather have a slammer, but even the 7" was listed at 35 from TW and everyone gets all bent out of shape when you recomend something outside the price range. SBM-RL Posted January 22, 2008 Author Posted January 22, 2008 I dont mind at all Im not cheap I know you have to spend to recieve something worth receiving I should have posted $15-$50. If I ask $30 and someone post something for $150 thats crazy but $45 or so is definetly worth considering. Does anyone have a link for the Slammer Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 22, 2008 Super User Posted January 22, 2008 There you go.... Quote
Handy Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I bought one strike king king kong and it caught nothing but water even in pike waters. It is now in the extra stuff box. I am looking at the tru-tungsten adjustable swimbait. Paul Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted January 23, 2008 Super User Posted January 23, 2008 you might want to check out these although they might be a little too small for your needs. i bought two and cant wait to try them out!!!! they also have a 6 5/16" version that dives 0-4' and suspends, if the wake version is too small.
