breakyourrod Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 The guy I just spoke with says he is pretty sure the carbonlite rods with not be on sale for the classic. Mainly because they are on sale now. I am not going to take any chances so I'm going to get mine this weekend. BPS is only 10 minutes from me... that is a good thing and a bad thing. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted February 18, 2010 Author Super User Posted February 18, 2010 My flyer came, my wife just showed to me! So I got to go,me and the monkey will be looking at it. Be back later! Quote
cyph3r Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 thanks again for posting the flyer pictures:D Quote
21farms Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 25% off zoom products SOUNDS good but, keep in mind that BPS prices are kinda high to begin with. here's a comparison i just did showing BPS prices compared to ***'s prices: so, in some cases (e.g., baby brush hog, finesse worm), TW's everyday price is still lower than BPS's sale price with the 25% off. in other cases, the difference is slight. just be careful before going hog wild Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted February 18, 2010 Super User Posted February 18, 2010 RC's only $12 - darnitt I wanted cheaper.I just wish the Stacy King jerkbaits had been typical LC quality - I bought a bunch a couple years ago only to find out I had to reweight them to get them to suspend like a Pointer... How are the King's on a straight retrieve? Nice work on the chart Snoopy. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted February 18, 2010 Super User Posted February 18, 2010 Snoop... thanks for those pics! I've been impatiently waiting for that flyer. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 18, 2010 Super User Posted February 18, 2010 here guys, i took photos of the fishing pages: Thanks for taking the time to do that There IS a ProQualifier BC reel on sale - but it's not the regular production model, but a limited run, light-weight (7.1 oz vs. standard 8.8 oz). The gear ratio isn't specified but I'd bet it's 6.4 or 7.1. It's probably a very nice reel (duralumin gears) but some of us were hoping the new PQ low-ratio (4.7 & 5.2) reels would be on sale... Typical BPS BS. As for their 'sale'... Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 18, 2010 Super User Posted February 18, 2010 I just got it today. Nothing in it interests me at all. They've lost touch.... Quote

Super User J Francho Posted February 18, 2010 Super User Posted February 18, 2010 Discounted Shimano wouldn't have interested me either. I can't really say. Its not my job to decide on BPS marketing strategies. I just flipped through, and nothing interested me. Quote

If I didn't already have 4 of the regular PQs, I'd be all over that limited edition. Well, actually, I'd probably spend the extra $10 and get a bunch of Carbonlites Other than the new PQ, the discounted Carbonlite BC reel, and an inflatable PFD, I didn't see anything else in the flyer that really floated my boat. Now, hopefully I can phone in an order and get the store price as listed in the flyer. Quote
Bigs Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I didnt realize how much more bps charges for plastics then TW. Now I realize what a good deal zoom plastics are with TW's 20 percent off sales. I agree with J tho, nothing really interests me other then the bradia reel. But lookin at the specs and reading bout it, I think I'll pass, that reel is way too heavy and slow for me. I rather spend a lil more and get a stradic ci4. I'm still goin to bps tho and see if I can find anything interesting on sale. I doubt everything is listed in the flyer. If only they sold yo zuri ultra soft line or some cool japanese tackle it would be more worthwhile. Quote
EIU bass Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Hey guys new to the forum! I have been pacing for days waiting on the flier to post online. Thankfully you guys have cabin fever as bad as me and posted it! But I think I have to agree that the flier is off the mark this year. Look at cabelas latest flier from the hazelwood, mo store. They have Rapala DT14 and 16's onsale for 2.99! Online they have a Shimano Citica combo onsale for 129.99. Plus it seems like every other day that cabelas runs some sort of discount like free shipping or $30 off a $150 order. Being a marketing major i think that Cabelas is leaving bass pro in the dust. As for Tackle Warehouse i really cannot say enough good about those guys. I attend Eastern Illinois University and emailed them about a possible sponsorship. They replied that they give every college team discounts on merchandise. They are already close to if not the cheapest place to get most tackle. That and their selection is second to none! Anyway enough rambling! Quote

You have to catch them in there and if you do you can get SCREAMING deals (like 40 bucks). Ardent Reels has a national 1st quarter sales promotion going on. If a consumer purchases an F500, F700 or C400 they will get a Professional Parts Cleaner free. There should be point of purchase in the stores and tear pads that they must complete and send in with proof of purchase to Ardent. They will then ship a free Parts Cleaner. Great reels and products made in the USA with a three year warranty. They are trying to staff the BPS Spring Flings where possible for folks who are interested in reel cleaning info or specific Ardent Reels. Quote
zelmo Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Well, I guess I got lucky. I had a 20% off coupon last weekend and was thinking about using it on PQ rainwear. The deal on those for the classic is better than that. Thanks for posting the pics. Quote
Corkster_00 Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 I just got it today. Nothing in it interests me at all. They've lost touch.... I kinda agree, only thing I see is 4.00 off R.C. Lucky Craft, about 5 yrs ago they seemed to have some real deals, person is better off buying from a reputable authorized dealer on line or Ebay for rods n reels. Unless you like B.P.S. rods n reels. I think they are ok for entry level equipment.Tackle Warehouse is a personal favorite.I do enjoy a trip to Cabelas or B.P.S. while traveling. I guess I have graduated from Johnny Morris reels and Extreme rods.Don't get me wrong they are ok but nothing to get excited about.I still use 2 JMX10HB reels after 5 yrs.Last Extreme rod I lost an eye, they wanted more to fix it than it was worth, offered $10 in store trade value.Called reel repair in Springfield twice to get part for Midas spinning reel, never received. Good luck finding parts or actual reel manufacturer for parts. Just my little ole worthless opinion and past experience. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted February 20, 2010 Super User Posted February 20, 2010 Not impressed with the sale at all. I might get a spooling station since I'm getting tired of stripping all that line by hand every year, but that's about it. The "quality" of the sale is making my TW order even larger. EIU... I definitely agree with you regarding Cabelas. They do put A LOT of online stuff on sale every week. Quote
