What do you guys use when you're fishing with a frog? Mono, fluro, or braid? What pound test? I've been using 50 pound braid and that will never break, but I'm wondering if that's to much. It seems like the bass could see the line a lot more when using a braid like that. Any thoughts?

I use 50-65lb braid. I fish very heavy slop, pads and grass. I'm never worried about the fishing seeing it due to the cover breaking it up. My hook up ratio has greatly increased due to braid as well.

55 or 65 braid (Suffix or PP)

+1

X 2 if fishing open water you could go down to 30lb. braid, but for the thick stuff 50 to 65 lb.

I would not use a FC line for any topwater bait - frogs included.  Most of the time, I'm fishing a hollow body frog, like a spro frog, in heavy slop and therefore use 65lb braid and a heavy rod.  In that situation, i'm not worried about the fish seeing the line.

50lb braid WILL break, trust me! :'( ;D

30 lb. braid for light-to-medium grass and 50 lb. braid for thick mats and grass , power pro or izorline premium spectra ....

powerpro is bad

I doubt that at 17 years of age you have anything to offer that qualifies that statement.  Yes, Samurai is excellent line, but it doen't mean Power Pro is "bad."  There's much worse out there.

For frogs (not solid body "toad" baits, like the Ribbit), I use 50 or 65# Power Pro.

50lb breaks, TRUST ME. 65lb braid has broken on me before too, it happens, but it's much stronger. I use 65lb braid for all of my frog fishing and would never go below that. I'm switching to 70lb Daiwa when I can.

When you're throwing top water baits on slop, the line isn't an issue at all.

Mono and fluoro stretch way too much to throw a hollow body frog.

Whats your guys take on the newer lines like fireline braid that are round, to improve casting and line lay on the spool?

spiderwire stealth is super strong.  but it's not so stealth after a day in stained water. and it's also like throwing winch cable to me.  I prefer PP or samurai. with samurai being my fave.  and of course in 65#.
