ChazfromVA Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 if you have the money get the stx... higher end reel with more bearings and better construction.. but while your at it look at the premiere and the toro... those are the real high echelon revos.. i have one of both and you can really tell why they cost dam near 300 dollars! Super User roadwarrior Posted February 19, 2010 Super User Posted February 19, 2010 If you want an Abbadabbado, there's a grrat deal on a Premier in the Flea Market. 8-) Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 19, 2010 Super User Posted February 19, 2010 Flipping only requires a strong frame and drag. There's no reel involved until you hook a fish. Swimbaiting, if you mean big baits require heavy line, so you'llneed capacity. If you're limiting the possibilities to just Revos, you want a Toro for swimbaits. As far as I am concerned, the S and the Premier are the only two Revos worth owning. Look for the older Premier at a discount. Nice, little reel. For flipping, the S will fine. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted February 19, 2010 Super User Posted February 19, 2010 Yep. If its older, might want to update the drag and add some spool bearings, but it'll work. Quote

Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted February 19, 2010 Super User Posted February 19, 2010 i personally use nothing but ABU GARCIA REVO baitcasters . if your looking for a reel you can flip with AND throw swimbaits , get a REVO INSHORE . it holds 175 yards of 12# test line , i have about 90-100 yards of 20# Izorline XXX line on it . it has 24 lbs. of drag and is built solid , has a 6.4:1 gear ratio that can do both jobs efficently .i also have a REVO TORO and i would not suggest you use this reel to flip with , i use it just for big swimbaits . here is the link for the INSHORE - http://www.***.com/Abu_Garcia_REVO_Inshore_Casting_Reel/descpage-AGRI.html and a picture of it ...
