Carrington Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 2500 is the best size in my opinion, i own a sehara and it is 2500 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted February 16, 2010 Super User Posted February 16, 2010 If you are going to use 4-6 # line the 1000 will be just fine. If you are going larger like 10-12# then the 1000 won't hold enough line. Quote
Nine Miler Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 2500. I have about 6 2500 size spinning reels. They aren't that big. You can use light line, like 6 or 8, but it will be fine with 12 or 14 as well. Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted February 16, 2010 Super User Posted February 16, 2010 Larger is always better on a spinning reel 8-) within reason Go with the 2500 -T9 Quote
scrutch Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 looks like its unanimous! thx guys. Quote
uicdent11 Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 For the monster bass here in N. Illinois, I like the 8000. Just in case I hook into a 4lber. Quote

Super User dodgeguy Posted February 16, 2010 Super User Posted February 16, 2010 you almost never see pros using spinning reels under a 3500 size.there is a reason for this.it's called less line issues.if you want a light spinning reel get a pflueger supreme xt. Quote

I'm with Dodge Guy. The bigger the reel, the bigger the spool. The bigger the spool, the longer the casts and better drag system. The weight difference between a 2500 and a 4000 is often only about an ounce. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. If weight is an issue, stay with the 2500. Quote
sal669 Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 2500 it the perfect size for bass fishing Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 16, 2010 Super User Posted February 16, 2010 2500 for me too. Quote
