You might as well just stop fishing all together now! Quote

You might as well just stop fishing all together now! True, She has you in training camp! When you get married it gets worse! ;D ;D All kidding aside, if you set one rod as drop shot, that is not something you want to retie all the time! So I would go one rod to cover the bottom and the other to fish mid range to the top ( use a snap ), and something you can change baits fast like a snap! You could always look for a Gf with lots of money!!!!! ;D ;D Quote
-nick- Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I'd just use one rod with a snap on it for everything the rod is rated for and you can use snaps with, and I'd use one for texas rigs. That's what I did. Quote
L a r r y Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I used one rod from the middle of summer all the way to fall. It was a 6ft m rod, that did pretty well for what I was using it for. Everything from worms, cranks, buzz/spinners. If your money is tight, go ahead and continue using what you have until you have the funds to buy other combos. It it will save the headache of hearing the lil lady in your ear about how much money you are spending. If she ain't happy, no one is happy Quote
LAO162 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Fast snaps like these worked pretty well for me when using cranks and various lures: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_7816____SearchResults Occasionally, they would contribute to the hooks tangling on the line when they landed on the water, but otherwise didn't hurt the action too much. Made switching much easier. You might want to consider keeping one reel filled with a finesse line and the other with something larger. If both rods are not the same, I'd use the more sensitive, faster one for bottom baits, and the other for moving baits. If one reel has a faster retrieve, use that one for bottom baits and the slower one for cranks, etc. Fishing with 2 rods is very is still a luxury to me. Now, its just fun to have a bunch Until I was 40, I thought you needed just a trout rod and a bass rod Leon Quote
basspro215 Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 Thanks for all the advice guys i appreciate it Quote
Super User islandbass Posted February 15, 2010 Super User Posted February 15, 2010 Use one for treble hook lures and the other for single hook lures. Since they're the same action, I don't think it's going to matter which one you use for which. Quote
Super User Raul Posted February 15, 2010 Super User Posted February 15, 2010 What type of rods dude ? trigger ( casting ) rods are slightly more powerful than spinning rods of the same action and same length, that of course if both rods are the same brand and line being just different types. Quote
basstracker721 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 If it were me, I'd rig one up with braid and rig it with a jig or soft plastic. The other I'd rig with mono for cranks, topwater, and spinnerbaits. Quote
