BPS rods? How do they perform?

I know alot of people that swear by the Bionic Blade, it's not bad but I prefer the Extreme and up, never used the Crbonlite but heard a few good things. I also think that the Crankin Stick is a great crankbait rod for it's sub $100 price.

I have several Extremes in both spinning and casting. For the money they are decent rods. The balancing option works well and makes them more comfortable to use.

I have two, a 7ft MH Extreme Trigger, and a 6ft 9in ProLite finesse. Both of them have performed well, I added a balancing kit to the MH but haven't been able to try it out yet.

bps rods work very well. you see a few pros using them,rick clunn,edwin evers,woo daves,and many others, i have used them for years and never had any problems,i just got a new carbonlite rod and will be using this weekend for the frist time but it seems like a nice rod so far.

I have two MH Bionic Blade two piece spinning rods that I use for pike and bass. They travel well and are well rounded rods, jack of all trades if you will. They do alot of stuff well, not much great. But they are extremely adequate. They've held up to 10 lb+ pike and carp and bass over five pounds.

PS- I also have a 2 piece Tourney Special, ML spinning that is good for treble hook lures, but the action on it is sssssssllllllllloooooooowwwwww.

I have/had Bionic Blade, Carbonlite, and Rick Clunn series rods. I got the BB on sale for $49.99 (reg. 79.99) and it has to be the best rod for $50 out there. I just got the Carbonlite (matched with JM Spinning reel), but haven't used it yet this year. I wasn't happy with RC 6'6" MF Worm/Drop Shot casting model - could not cast worth a darn, didn't like the action, and returned it the following week. I'm gunshy about "signature series" rods that are technique specific because IMHO, we all fish techniques differently. I'm not ashamed to say that Rick Clunn and I don't fish our worms/drop shots the same way. 

I have bought some BPS UL rods (for Crappie) and they have worked well - even when I "accidently" catch a bass on 'em.

i use johnny morris signature series.imho they compare to any rod made.i've used extremes and my wife has a bionic blade.all good rods at their price points.

I have a Rick Clunn 7' bc rod, and have thrown way more than worms ect.. Good deal for the $$. I think the Shimano Clarus would also be a good rod to check out..

I have 15 BPS rods - of those, 4 are Bionic Blades and 5 are Extremes. I think all are good tools at their price points BUT, they become much better values when on sale. At their regular retail prices, there are other, equally good or better values. However, they're hard to beat when they are on sale. I bought 4 of my Extremes when they were on clearance in December - $100 regular price - marked down to $57 Pretty hard to find a better rod for $57 IMO.  In fact, I've bought every one of my BPS rods on sale...

They all fish well, with the understanding that they're not $150-200 class rods. My two biggest fish last year were both caught on Bionic Blades - the bass in my avatar was caught on a 6'-6" MF casting rod, and I caught a 20lb channel cat on a 5'-6" L spinning rod (and the rod didn't even snap in half as some would say about BPS rods ;D)

Another small point - the Bionic Blade and higher rods have a great hook keeper design!

I think my Extreme was a great value, but I lost interest in it once the baitmonkey coerced me into a higher budget range. I still like my Browning Midas rod quite a bit. Not a BPS house brand, but I like my Cabelas XMLTi as much as my Techna AVs and All Star Platinum. At full price, house brands seem to have quite a bit of competition in their price range. However, house brands usually can be advertised at significantly greater discounts than national brands. The house brands seem to get a lot more interesting when they approach discounts of 30% or more

I have two 7' MH Extreme (Purchased for $69 and $59) trigger rods and like the action of them better than my 7' MH Johnny Morris Signature Series trigger rod.  The JM is much stiffer and has a faster tip. 

As far as spinning rods go my two Johnny Morris 6' and 6'6" Medium action rods are fantastic!  They are my favorite rods by far!  They are the perfect rod for $80 on clearance!

Don't buy a BPS rod unless it is on sale.  If it isn't on sale wait for the Spring Classic or some other sale.  It will eventually go on sale.

The discounts are the best part of BPS rods, it's like they are priced to go on sale.  IMO, on sale @ $100, the Pro Qualifier is the best rod you could buy.

BPS makes some reallly good rods.  I have 3 Extremes and love them (m/mh/h).  I'm not high on their house reels but the rods (Bionic Blades and up) are an incredible value.  I just bought an Abu Garcia Vendetta and it looks nice but that's about it...was very disappointed with the sensitivity so I returned and just bought another Extreme.  Got some cash back in the pocket and can feel the bite again

I've had several BPS rods over the years before I realized that I was investing more in the reel than the rod. I have since wised up. I don't really use any BPS rods anymore but I did like some of them in particular.

I've had Tourney Specials, Bionic Blade, Extremes, etc...

Probably my 2 favorites are my 7' M BPS Crankin Stick and my "Woo Daves" Extreme 68MLF spinning rod. I always wanted one of those Billy Westmoreland "Smallmouth" Rods but they quit making them.

I've got a Rick clunn worm/ drop shot rod and love it. It loads up and can launch a weightless worm about six miles.

I plan on buying a few up during the classic sale, a crankin stick and a frog rod. Looking forward to slayin some hogs this spring.

I prefer G loomis for my worm & jig rods, however I carry 3 of the BPS Crankin' sticks on my boat and I'm very satified with them. This year they redesigned the Crankin' stick, the new edition is supposed to be 20% lighter.

Even at full price the J/M Elite is a great rod. Sensitivity is great, and is really light weight.

It only has a one year warranty, but most other rods are going to cost you another $50 to get a replacement with their "lifetime" warranty. (Loomis, St Croix)

Alright, so I bought a Carbonlite last month.  I was so excited to fish it because it felt so great in my hand.  First trip out, no fish on it and it snapped in half while casting a 3/8 oz Spinnerbait.  Piece of junk if you ask me.  I'm driving back up to BPS this weekend and will get a new rod or my money back!!
