Nkybassfisherman Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Hey whats your alls favorite line to use when fishing with spinning reels? my spinning reel is rated at 8-12 line so its a little bigger than some of you may use..,, i was looking at trying YO-Zuri hybrid or some p-line CX or CXX are any of these lines good for spinning tackle? thanks Quote
I.rar Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 cxx is about the worst line for a spinning reel , imo. havnt tried the cx , but members here say its much more manageable than the cxx. i havnt tried the yo-zuri but its on my list of lines to check out. if you wanted to go with mono , i would recommend suffix seige. trilene XL is a good line as well , but i prefer the suffix. RandySBreth Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Fireline 4/10 or 6/14 or PowerPro 4/15 or 6/20. For non-superlines, FluoroClear or Yo-Zuri Hybrid. If you're just stuck on regular mono, Maxima is still awesome. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted February 8, 2010 Super User Posted February 8, 2010 If your going to try the YoZuri..get the Ultrasoft..works great on spinneing, and baitcasting reels..6-8 lb works swell on a size 2500 reel. Quote
jacobhookem Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Berkley 100% flouro is my favorite line for fishing on a spinning rod, just because I can get a more solid hook set and will be able to feel the smallest of bites. good luck fishin! ;D Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted February 8, 2010 Super User Posted February 8, 2010 fireline braid or cajun red cast mono. Quote
LAO162 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I liked CX. I used #8 instead in place of of #6 Trilene XL. Now, I use Gamma CoPoly in #6 and #10. Quote
tracker01 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Bass Pro Shops, Excel 8 or 10 pd. test mono. It's good line that does not cost allot of money. You can change your line often and it does not hurt your wallet. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted February 8, 2010 Super User Posted February 8, 2010 I would have to say Gamma. And my second choice would be the Sufix line. Quote
WoolleyBass Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Cajun red cast mono. It works for pretty good for me. Roby Quote
BenoBreath Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 If your going to try the YoZuri..get the Ultrasoft..works great on spinneing, and baitcasting reels..6-8 lb works swell on a size 2500 reel. X2 Quote
Sherlock 60 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Trilene XL for mono, and if you want to go with braid use 20# PowerPro (6# diameter). Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted February 8, 2010 Super User Posted February 8, 2010 I use Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Berkley Big Game. Both in #10. Quote
bassin is addicting Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 i am one of those who use spinning exclusively... i use Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra soft (thanks to RW) 6lb...which test out at 11.9.... and/or Trilene XL 8-10lb i also use KVD line conditioner.. Quote
TxBuddha Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 P-Line CX in 8# & 10# are what I use most but I do have some 8# InvisX that I'll be trying soon. Quote
Ern Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I'll throw out another for Magnathin. I use the 4 and 6 lb. clear. Been using it for years. Quote
j-bones Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 6lb trilene smooth cast. I picked up trilene sensation in the 6# and was quite impressed with it last year. Not sure if I am going to go that route again or give the new trilene transoptic a shot. Cant go wrong w/a 6# trilene product in my eyes. Quote
