TJHfishin Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 im looking at getting a citca in the next week but found a sale on revo s for 89 and was wondering which reel would be better for throwing weightless plastics and texas rigs thank u guys Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 8, 2010 Super User Posted February 8, 2010 Both reels are popular. I suspect most responses boil down to brand preference. I'm a Shimano guy, so my choice would be the Citica. 8-) Quote
barroncooper Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I think both reels are great @ that price point. I just think that the mid range shimanos outshine the mid range revos. so I'm gonna have to go with the citica. Quote
SWMIBASSER Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 These types of threads quickly turn into an arguing match. That isn't my intention. My reason for choosing the Revo is in part due to an attachment to the brand since first starting with baitcasting gear years ago. It's what I learned on, it's what I like. Second, the reels peform pretty similarly, so I like the Revo for it's construction. Aluminum crank handle sideplate, and bearing suported components vs bushing supported. In the end, you are absolutely NOT going to go wrong with either reel. Quote
rubba bubba Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Very similar reels. I'd get whichever you could score for $89 as that's a good price. Quote
