SPAZ Posted January 10, 2008 Author Posted January 10, 2008 I ended up ordering some river2seas, wareagles, premier plus, terminator and kvd's. I will have to use them a lot on my next trip so decided to get 1-2 of each brand to try out. Thanks Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Terminator T-1 - they run the truest right off the bat, and are the most durable - they don't need much if any tuning. Those two attributes, IMO, are the most important when choosing a brand. You can always add different blades, skirts, etc., but that don't mean nada if you have to spend all day tuning it. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I like using the 3 and 4 blade spinners in clear water like the one fourbizz put up. I use the Booyah version though. I've had success with that. I've also personally had a lot of success with Terminators hybrid blade fished like a spinnerbait. You can also fish it like a buzzbait. Quote
SBM-RL Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Terminater custom's are my favorites but the t-1 and super stainless are nice too. Ive fished boo yah many times but they bend pretty easy and the hooks went dull on mine quick. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 10, 2008 Super User Posted January 10, 2008 I use Booyah's,Terminator's and Strike King's. I was really put off by Strike king in recent years untill I tried there Premier Plus and KVD spinner baits, IMHO those are best spinner baits I have ever used. Quote
Willzx225 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I'm going to through one out there that I have been throughing for 10 years and nobody has said anything about them... They are one of the best (I think they are the best) clear water baits. I through a Nichols Pulsator spinnerbait 90 % of the time I am fishing a spinnerbait. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 10, 2008 Super User Posted January 10, 2008 I like the original Terminator T-1 (titanium-framed):http://www.terminatorlures.com/06site/t1_open.html Sometimes they just cant be made any better..... Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 10, 2008 Super User Posted January 10, 2008 Megabass, Deps, Evergreen. I dont have time to rob a bank to buy those....LOL Quote
Super User T-rig Posted January 10, 2008 Super User Posted January 10, 2008 Megabass, Deps, Evergreen. I dont have time to rob a bank to buy those....LOL Which company makes the best spinnerbaits? Quality is very important and especially ones that flat out catch fish! Maybe spiroh does. :) Quote
bocabasser Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 hildebrandt and war eagle. i sometimes throw the gambler ninjaspin. it all depends on the body of water i am on. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 11, 2008 Super User Posted January 11, 2008 It's all about the swivel. Cheap spinnerbait = cheap swivel = piece of crap. Quote
garry77 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Terminator t-1 here too.The occasional mudfish in florida usually bends anything less beyond repair. Quote
dman Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 War Eagle! Run straight out of the pack, catch fish after fish, bounce them off cover, tossed around the back of the truck and still run perfectly straight! its amazing how straight they still run. I have been stocking up this winter on them! got a whole pile now.. The River 2 Sea Crystal Spin look nice though, i wanna pick one up and try em out. Quote
Michael H Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I have been using strike kings KVD spinner bait for awhile now it is definitely my favorite. I Fish some booyahs too. I have a few T-1s but I don't like them the paint chipped easily and I don't like that I can't bend them to adjust to the retrieve I am looking for. Quote
Cajun1977 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 www.heavycover.com if you havent checked em out you need to Quote
dman Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 wow, nice link cajun! never heard of them, but very interested in designing my own spinnerbait! gonna try em Quote
dave Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 While I have never used them, the concept was cool. It took a lot of will power to walk away from these at the Expo in Timonium MD. www.secretweaponlures.com. Quote
dale Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Dave, Be happy you walked away IMO this is a bait that is given to guys who cann't decide what bait to throw.. the clips will catch more grass and other debris that make a good cast aa mute point. I have been given several of these baits to try and they do catch fish,, but there are several other options out there. Again just my opinion Dale Quote
dave Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 One of my questions while standing there was, "don't these big clips catch a lot of grass?" The answer given was "yes" but, not any more than others. I couldn't see it. They are beautiful baits. Thanks for the input. Quote
guitarkid Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 heavycover.com rules. when u get some money, i'm buying some. more then one. o.k. alot darn baitmonkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Favorite spinner - up until a year or so ago was the Booyah, but I am really digging the Strike Premier Elites. Quote
The_Natural Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Megabass, Deps, Evergreen. I dont have time to rob a bank to buy those....LOL You're safe... Megabass spinners lose their paint after one outing of throwing them on rocky points (where I throw most of my spinnerbaits). The 'fish head' profile and finish made me shell out for them, but they don't look like that for long. I like the looks of that river2sea bait (very similar to the Megabass), but I'm not sure if the fact a spinnerbait is a reaction bait that it really matters. I throw War Eagles and Leverages mostly...been wanting to try Nichols. Back when KVD actually had to pay for his spinnerbaits, he threw the Nichols baits. Does the River2sea hold its paint?! Quote
tfisherman Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Started off with Stanley in the early 90's. Then went with the Hart Sniper's (very progressive for the time). Now I make my own using thin small wire and heavy heads, makes for great vibration. If I tear it up only cost me $2. My buddy uses War Eagles and I've just bought a couple Screamin Eagles they have the same idea I do...small bait heavy head!! Quote
