Has anyone heard the rumor that She-mano will not be selling anymore Loomis rods in 2011?  Some of this is because Gary Loomis is back in the rod making business?

Bullsquat, the IMX and GLX rods make shimano a fortune, even they are not foolish enough to drop their cash cow.

Besides, they already got out of the rod blank business and thats where Gary would have killed them.

only thing about loomis i have heard is that recently they began to up the production rate of loomis from last year so that should be a sign that they will continue through 2011.

Shimano is not going to sell GLoomis. The rod making business is not as profitable as everyone thinks it is either.

Hey looky there. Hey bantam. :D

Good to hear they are keeping it.

BTW, if it wasn't making money they wouldn't be doing it.

Are they going to end production of Loomis rods?

steezy, I think he was just saying it's not a huge money maker for the company like some posts have implied, and I'm pretty sure he would know best.

Thats a bummer.  I'll have to lower my standards to a Kistler I guess.

That should get this topic moving or locked. ;D
