BucketBuster Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I know that Bass Pro has reel trade-ins for kids, vets, etc, but does anyone know if they have rod trade-ins as well? If so, when are the dates in 2010. Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted January 29, 2010 Super User Posted January 29, 2010 I had called (my local BPS) about that last week. The answer was "No. Only reels". Quote
ib_of_the_damned Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 You can trade in your old reels at Bass Pro!?? Would someone care to enlighten me on this topic? Do they only take BPS reel or all? Quote
BucketBuster Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 They take any reel, just as long as it is in fairly good condition. Once you trade in your reel, you get discounts based on the price of the new reel in which you purchase. The discounts are somewhere in this range: Price of New Reel Trade-in Discount 100 to 149.99 20.00 150 to 199.99 30.00 200 to 249.99 40.00 250.00 and above 50.00 It doesn't matter what reel you bring in either, just as long as it works. It runs this year from Feb. 26-March 3 I believe. Quote
koulaid Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 The only thing i know is that if your BPS brand rod breaks and you go bring it in within the 1 year warranty you can trade it in for any rod and pay the difference. Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 30, 2010 Super User Posted January 30, 2010 If wanted to upgrade a reel, I would be happier giving my old reel that's in good condition to a worthy recipient rather than a 20 or 30 discount. Quote

Lucky Craft Man Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Will they allow you to trade in more than 1 reel against a discount of a new reel (e.g., 2 reels traded in would equal $40 off a reel priced between $100 - 119.99). Also, can you use the discount to purchase a fly reel? Quote

Also, can you use the discount to purchase a fly reel? No, you can't trade-in 2 reels and get double the discount. If you were to bring in two reels to trade-in, you could get discounts on 2 reels and so on. I don't know if the trade-in includes fly reels, but I don't see why it wouldn't. Quote
coopie84 Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Another crazy question...I'm assuming the Pro Qualifier Baitcasts are all marked down for the sale....is the discount for the reel trade in taken off the sale price or the original price? Anyone that knows...thanks. Also are all rods on sale...Like GLoomis and Falcons or just Bass Pro Brands and also what other sales do they have??? Quote

The PQ reels are not on sale, but they have a special purchase PQ with Duralumin gears for $79.99. When a reel is on sale, the trade-in discount is applied to the sale price. There may be some other special offers on G Loomis, Falcon, etc, but they cannot be run on sale because those vendors do not allow sale prices on their product. Quote
