Jon1970 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Anyone have any input to how the guides on a 21 carrot gold series carrot stick holds up when using braid? I have read some reviews where the tip guide's coating wears off but has anyone else experienced this or any other problems with the guides? Just asking because I want to put some braid on my flipping stick but I don't want to run into any problems with the guides not holding up! Quote
opie Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I have been using braid on mine for about 4 months with no damage to the guides, but it does not get a whole lot of my fishing time, maybe twenty hours total, so this is not a definitive answer. Quote
Thefishy1 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I used the 7'6" H LTX with braid for about a year now and there is no visible damage to any guides. Someone has said that it has to do with particles in the water that get picked up by the braid, turning it into a kind of sandpaper, but I cant remember if it was true or not. I know there was a picture of a carrot guide with a groove in it, but I have not heard of or seen any more since then so I dont know. But overall I think it was a good rod and have nothing bad to say about any of my carrots. Quote
