All the info here at UBFRG has been so beneficial for me, I look so forward to trying out the things I'm learning here.

One for the tackle section: Do you use a snap or a swivel and when :-?

I've been using the interlock swivel mainly because of only two poles I only had when I went to the lake, so I'd swicth out quicker. A fella at work Friday said the best way to hook up to tackle was nots only.

Now he talks just to talk, so he has some tall stories sometimes, but it did get me to thinking more about the approach to this. Do you use'em and if so when or what kind of tackle do you match it with, jigs, jerk baits etc.

For snaps I use a duolock.

I mainly use it on crankbaits when I am tuning my pattern and switching out baits every few casts. But other than that I tie knots.

As for swivels.

I use them when fishing with a leader.

I never use snap swivels.

Hey fishin buds!Yes I use snaps and swivels.Have different applications for both.I usually use the speed clips for cranks and jerk baits.Regular snaps for blade baits(sonars and such).Swivels for carolina rigs, floating worms.I usually take the factory split ring off the cranks and jerkbaits.I have a dozen rods in the boat, and have done it both ways(tying directly to split ring).Probably the most important practice you should have while using these though,is to pull on the line checking Knot strength and check line for knicks and weakness, being your not retying as often!Hope this helps you and your buddy!!

i really like using swivels   i used them for all the normal technques like carolina rig  but i actually use them for any trig or weightless rig becuase when u miss a bass the bait becomes cocked eyed and will twist the line when reeled in which damages the line faster.  also i like the snap swivel so u can change damaged leaders quicker
