Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 30, 2010 Super User Posted January 30, 2010 The final rod that I needed to complete my collection literally took 2 years to find. Persistance and a lot if luck finally paid off, in the form of a literally brand new Megabass Super Destruction F8 78DG. Now I know I dont have 'all' of the slant bridge rods, but that's only because the others I know I wont use. All of these rods, will see some use from time to time. Here is the entire collection. (from left to right) Advantage F5-70DG Type-River Jabberwock Evolution F4 1/2-68XFti Super Destroyer Mephisto F7-69DG (plus a 2nd one on the floor) White Python F7-76RDti Super Destruction 78XX F8-78DG Frogzilla (wretched child) ;D Jota-DorumStick~ F4 1/2-64XFti Diablo SB F5 1/2-68XFti Quote
Fat-G Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 What kind of leather do you make? I might want to do it for a living Quote

Bronzefly Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 You are a sick man ;D Stunning collection of very rare pieces... Congratulations!! 8-) Quote
Super User islandbass Posted January 31, 2010 Super User Posted January 31, 2010 I have some ugly stick combos that look nicer than those. But I'll tell you what... I'd be more than happy to take those off of your hands and trade them for yours. ;D Just kidding. Those look awesome. Those are truly representative of the perfect blend of combining art and beauty with functionality . Gotta pick my jaw off the ground. 8-) Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 31, 2010 Super User Posted January 31, 2010 You should forward that photo to your insurance agent. Beautiful collection. Congrats. Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 31, 2010 Super User Posted January 31, 2010 I like the bar more. ;D And Redline out of curiousuy when I was going to buy a Megabass I read a lot of horrible things abou their warranty program that really turned me off. What is the truth on it? Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted January 31, 2010 Super User Posted January 31, 2010 Those are absolutly sweet...I hate you.. ;D Congratz on your collection.. 8-) Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 31, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 31, 2010 I like the bar more. ;DAnd Redline out of curiousuy when I was going to buy a Megabass I read a lot of horrible things abou their warranty program that really turned me off. What is the truth on it? Megabass warranty is an oxymoron. ;D Unfortunately, you don't buy these rods worrying about a warranty. If you break it don't expect a replacement or even a discount on a replacemet. To make matters even more frustrating, Megabass has a history of discontinueing rods for no apparent reason. Once they decide they wont make a rod any more, regardless of how well they sell, that's it. I actually think that's kind of cool that they do that. Take for example my Diablo SB. I consider myself pretty lucky to have one, as less than 100 were made for world wide sales. In fact I understand that the ones that were made were mistakes, as so few actually ended up for sale. That's probably one of the reasons why when you do see one for sale, they get snatched up pretty fast. The last 2 that were sold that I know of, went for a cool grand each! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 31, 2010 Super User Posted January 31, 2010 That's quite a collection and I know "collecting" is fun! Do you actually use them; fish them once and put them back on display; or take them with you on special outings (Brazil)? I would want to fish each rig for a day, catch some fish to know how it feels on each rig, then simply display the collection after that. Just curious how you handle "collectibles". 8-) Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 31, 2010 Super User Posted January 31, 2010 Excellent collection. As a collector of many things in the past I know how it feels to complete the quest. It seemed like the chase was more fun than finally reaching the goal, so my "collecting" never stopped. I can't wait to see what your up to next. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 31, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 31, 2010 The Steez collection is nice, but doesnt hold a candle to Megabass. I use all of these rods RW. Depending what or where I'm fishing, they all see use. The Mephisto in fact, was my go to rod in Brazil. It was tailor made for throwing the giant prop bait. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 2, 2010 Super User Posted February 2, 2010 Outstanding! 8-) Quote
steezy Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 What's a steez? ;DAwesome collection! Steez are the production bling rods that we middle class must settle for unlike the Megabass that is for the upper class budget, those with enough $$$ that the warranty doesnt matter. I am so jealous ! 8-) 8-) 8-) Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 WOW...Very nice collection. I will say, your modified GLX BCR893 with the Slant Bridge Handle (the one displayed on another thread) is the nicest rod I have ever laid my eyes one. Great Work on that whole collection. Quote
