Super User .dsaavedra. Posted January 18, 2008 Super User Posted January 18, 2008 which would be a better lure? which would you get? thanks guys! Quote
bmadd Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I own two Spro Dawgs and know their action relatively well. I have no experience with the River2Sea but if you are referring to the Rover, Tackle Warehouse has a video of it's action. The Dawg's action is more subtle, and requires a little more effort than the Sammys and Spooks. It does catch fish though and has some very nice colors. I would suggest you replace the stock treble hooks before using though. I've had had problems from the feathered treble coming undone to the hooks bending. The River2Sea Rover is described has spitting and being more eratic then most walk the dogs, not being much of a glider. In the video I can see the difference. The River2Sea seems to have louder rattles. The action is nice but it's nothing special. For the price, I would go with the Spro between the 2. It has more color options as well. If I was going to spend over ten dollars on this type of lure I would go with a Sammy. Braden Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted January 19, 2008 Author Super User Posted January 19, 2008 yeah im sorry i forgot to add which river2sea in the title. i was reffering to the river to sea bubble popper. my mistake! :-[ but thanks for the info on the spro! that was very helpful. ;D Quote
bmadd Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Yea no problem. The Bubble Pop looks pretty good. It reminds me a little of the Team Daiwa Pencil and Mouthwash with the gill openings. I'd be interested to try that out myself. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted January 19, 2008 Author Super User Posted January 19, 2008 bubble popper is almost an exact copy of the megabass pop-x (<--- i think thats the name of it :-/) Quote
Super User T-rig Posted January 19, 2008 Super User Posted January 19, 2008 Not a very good comparison. One is a popper and one a walk the dog bait. This would be better: River2Sea Bubble Pop vs. Megabass Pop-X Or: Spro Dawg 100 vs. Lucky Craft Sammy 100 Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 19, 2008 Super User Posted January 19, 2008 The SproDawg is a decent bait, but it ain't no Sammy. Quote
bmadd Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I agree...it's a cheap alternative...but it can't compare Quote

JigNBig Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I have both sizes of the Bubble Pop and they work great. Come with sharp hook and good action. Quote
