paully Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Well, theres sufix siege, elite, and promix and some other stuff. The only stuff I've used was Sufix DNA/Promix and its GREAT! Stiff but smooth so you can get great distance on it and low stretch. Great strength too. Quote
mike90 Posted August 5, 2005 Author Posted August 5, 2005 the one i got is promix sorry about not putting it in the first post Quote
paully Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Yeah thats the one I have. Its a great line. What lb test did you get it? After im done with the poerpro thats on my baitcsater i'll switch to promix again. Quote
LIP_RIPPER Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 I use the Elite and had no problems with it. I would recommend it. Quote
curadolover Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Ive heard of it but ill just stick to stren Magnaflex and clear blue Quote
Deep Cranker Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I like the Elite also picked up their DeepCrankin line to try this year. Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I have used Sufix Elite and Siege for tying the butt section of fly leaders. It works great for that. Quote
midnighthrasher Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 i just picked up a 3000 yard spool of siege.... good stuff Quote
n2ratfishin Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Suffix and Vicious both are cost effective. I can use backing and change my line every other trip if I like and not break the bank. KVD Line Treatment is one I've found really works for stiffer lines. Put some on a rag and hold it in-between your fingers as you hold tension on the line when spooling. That way you'll coat the new line with conditioner as it goes on the reel. Quote
Stasher1 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I've been using Elite for a while now with no complaints and today I picked up my first spool of Seige in 6#. So far, I'm not all that impressed with the manageablity. It's pretty stiff for such a small diameter line. :-/ I think I'll stick with Elite from now on. Quote
Carrington Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 i use sufix titanium #17 for my crankbait setup and ive been fairly happy with it considering i got like 1,500 yards for $10.00 lol. Quote
basser89 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I've used Elite, Siege and the braid. IMO, Elite has a little more memory than Siege. All my mono rigs are spooled up with Siege. I did pick up a spool of the Deep Crankin line but haven't tried it. There was another thread a while back and someone had mentioned that it is on the brittle side if I remember correctly. Not sure if I'll give it a go or not. I do want to give their fluro a shot to see how it compares with the BPS XPS. Quote
Super User T-rig Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 Sufix Siege is good line but imho has too much stretch. Quote
looking4structure Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I have used Elite and Siege in 10lb and haven't had any problems. It casts like a dream. Quote
OIFBasser Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 The only Suffix line I hve used is the Sonic Braid. It is good stuff. I had it spooled on 2 reels all year and no problems with binding, nesting, wind knots whatsoever. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 Sufix is a trusted name in fishing line, and their technological advances seem to running abreast of Berkley (a tall order indeed). Sufix produces a line for every need, but Siege is arguably their best line with casting gear while Elite, which has less memory, is better suited to spinning tackle (it's class line). Roger Quote
