Super User J Francho Posted January 25, 2010 Super User Posted January 25, 2010 Red Hot Sauce grease is for guys that don't use their reels to fish. It looks pretty, and its easy to use. With average use, it turns black. This is not a positive attribute in reel lubrication. For those that are interested, acetone removes the red staining from most metal parts and bearings. Quote
Super User Raul Posted January 25, 2010 Super User Posted January 25, 2010 Look at all that BLOOOOOOOOD !!! :) ( note: Quantum Red Sauce used for demonatration use only ) Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 25, 2010 Super User Posted January 25, 2010 The clutch would work a lot better if all those clutch components with clumps of grease on them were oiled. All that grease does is get smeared out of the way, and attract dirt particles, contributing to early wear. Quote
n2ratfishin Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 . When I clean my own reels, I use Ardent's Reel Butter and Reel Grease. I do light cleaning and lubes on mine. When it comes time for the big tear down and cleaning it goes to a pro. Ardents little reel cleaning kit has most everything you'll need for general cleaning. Quote
Eternal Angler Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Been wondering the same thing, going to have to do a lot of research on the subject. Quote
