cooper29 Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Right now I use a spinning outfit with trilene XL Quote
John Cullum Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 10# test is a good all around line to start with. If you have a smaller spinning reel you can't go really heavy on the line weight anyway or it won't work properly. Quote
johnbr19792003 Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 use lower pound test it will get your bait deeper Quote
cgs2004 Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 If you plan on fishing in alot of rocks I'd go with Trilene XT 8lb. and if your not I'd go with the new Red cajun 10 lb. I used the cajun for the first time today and loved how smooth it casted but the abrasion resistance was less than desired. You just have to make sure you cut off a few inches and retie fairly often. Nick_Barr Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Rapala makes line especially for cranking, you can get it at BPS. Quote
Boo Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 I use a medium graphite rod with a baitcaster reel on it. I use 12lb, sometimes 10lb line mono. I prefer a baitcaster for crankbaits. I never use anything less than 10lb mono for cranking because line stretch becomes a factor then. Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 8-10 lb. test to get it deep.might have to go up if there's lots of thick cover. Quote
