midnighthrasher Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 I have been using green power pro for 2 years and i love it. I have often wondered what the red was for. I thought it might be good for applications where i use a leader therefore giving me more line visibility which would be good. If you have or do use it have you noticed any differences from green power pro? Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted January 23, 2010 Super User Posted January 23, 2010 Same stuff as the green. About as difficult to see in most applications, and the color wears off about the same or maybe slightly faster. If you want visibility go to yellow ;D -T9 Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Being at the top of the light spectrum, red actually is less visible under water. Here is an interesting article: http://fishing.about.com/od/basicfishinginstruction/a/red_fishingline.htm Quote

Seems kind of contradictory. Quote

Super User Wayne P. Posted January 23, 2010 Super User Posted January 23, 2010 If you want to see your line better in all lighting conditions, use yellow. The color red is one of the first to not appear the same color as light diminishes. At no point does red fishing line disappear unless there is no light (dark). Red line will be visible as another color in black or brown as light is filtered by water depth. Stating that red line dissappears or is invisible is misleading as well as untrue. The red color may have some attracting value as long as it is held in shallow enough depths that allow red to remain unfiltered. Quote
