I am looking really hard at a St. Croix LTB. What ever happened to black, gray, or other subdued color's? Has this been their standard colors? Does anyone know if this will change in the near future? Nice rod, nice split grip, but wrong color. I know it's just a head game but I just can not get into it.

Then move on to another rod manufacturer..... ;)

The nicest colored and styled rods are the cumaras. They are stealthy. None of that bling or fancy stuff just a beautiful graphite. The crucials are also very nice in the sun.

Theres NO color on my cumara, the rod is all dark gray w/black grips, boring looks but it is a good rod.

The Steez Fle-X-Lite series are beautiful rods for a non-custom.

Don't Ya know that color is the thing.  Not the guides, power, action, reel seat, its the color that does it all, and there are only 3 main colors that ya need.  Fluorescent Green, Red, and Hot Pink.

Thats all care on.

tracker01, What length, power and action rod are you looking for? Do you like a matte color or plain graphite?

Mike

I'm looking at the Croix LTBS68MXF for shallow river smallie fishing. Light stuff.

It sounds to me that you might be a candidate for a custom! Step into my office. 8-)

Seriously though, for the price of that rod, you would be surprised at what a rod-builder can set you up with for the same dough. You can choose any component in any color and dictate the color of thread wraps on the guides. Make it a spiral wrap, even!!
