Gent's what type of tape is used to cover up your line after you have peeled off about 75 yards for casting distance.

Electrical tape is very good.

I have used regular Scotch Tape and it works fine.

You may have to put two layers of the Scotch Tape over the line.   ;)

Is this to prevent spool over run?

yep.. i use it to know where i put my junk line on first..

spool half the spool with some 25lb cheap mono.. tie it to the fluoro with a double uni knot.. tape it down, then spool the rest up with some good fluorocarbon...

You don't have to use tape with glue at all. You can use a section of teflon tape like used for sealing plumbing threads or you can use a strip cut from a plastic sandwich bag, garbage bag, or any other non-water absorbing material.

Speaking of teflon tape, do any of you cover the holes in drilled reel spools to keep water out of the spool center and bearings? I do.

Nope, sounds like a good idea though...I'm just worried about the extra weight.. ;D
