TruiteBR Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 What do you think about the St Croix Avid Crankbait Rods? How do they compare to the competition? Would the AVC66MM handle 1/8oz crankbaits well? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 18, 2010 Super User Posted January 18, 2010 Probably, but the specifications are 1/4 - 5/8 oz. I have the AVC70MM which I highly recommend. The rod will cast an XCalibur Xr50 a country mile! 8-) Quote
LVT Bassin Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I also have the AVC70MM. I bought it last summer with roadwarrior's helpful advice. It's the only crankbait rod I own and it's awesome! I have used it a lot last year for deep cranking as well as wake baits and shallow cranking. It does cast LONG with crankbaits but probably LONGER with rattle trap type baits! You won't be disappointed with this rod. Quote

Also, what is the smallest lipped or lipless crank you would throw with it? Quote
