Super User eyedabassman Posted January 16, 2010 Super User Posted January 16, 2010 My frist vote would be the XPS and then Trilene 100% Flour. Quote
ToledoEF Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I have only used xps and really like it, however I got some spiderwire 100% for a deal I couldnt pass up, it looks pretty similar and ive heard from a few freinds who fish it that they didnt see much of a difference between that and the bps! Super User Raul Posted January 16, 2010 Super User Posted January 16, 2010 XPS ( BPS ) fluorocarbon is actually Toray Super Hard Strong, with a different label and without the hefty price and limited availability of Toray, a very good and "inexpensive" fluorocarbon if you ask me. Seaguar Carbon Pro is very good IMHO. Quote
basser89 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 XPS for me as well. I would like to try Sufix though. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted January 17, 2010 Super User Posted January 17, 2010 Hmmm, be kinda tough to vote IF you haven't tried them all..and I haven't..just the trilene 100%.. Quote
Tpayneful Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I fished Pline, Seaguar Pro, Invisix and then XPS. XPS is better than them all on my baitcaster in 14lb and 8lb on my spinning reel. My partner bought Trilene 100% Fluoro and he hates it! I thought he was crazy and tried to tie a dropshot for him. He was right. That line stinks! You can't pinch 8lb to get it to go through a dropshot hook! Quote
fathom Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 just goes to show. xps, at least on my reels, dug into itself like braid after i set a good hook. it lasted one long day on my reels. Quote

Just tie a palomar and leave the tag end however long you want.. I haven't had any issues with trilene 100% yet. Quote
swilly78 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I think we can all agree that its not Vanish.....lol Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted January 17, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 17, 2010 I think we can all agree that its not Vanish.....lol X 2 I think the worst line was the Iron Silk! Quote
Bass_Stomper Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Did everybody but me know vanish sucked? HAHA. Found that out last Thursday. Spiderwire fluoro for me. Been holding up. Well. Longer than the vanish did. Quote
Fishing Doug Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I voted 'Other'. Sunline Shooter is by far the best I have tried. But with that being said, I don't think it's performance offsets the price. On the rigs that I still use FC on, XPS is working well. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted January 17, 2010 Super User Posted January 17, 2010 I tired vanish about a year ago...so bad I didn't even mention it...it just Vanished..lol Quote
BMoore Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I liked inviz x but it breaks easily if your in any sort of cover. Anybody tried the McCoy 100? Quote
RandySBreth Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 The best I've ever used for leader material w/superlines is Orvis "Mirage" 1X tippet, made for fly fishermen. 14.5-pound test, about 8-pound test (mono) diameter. Not very likely to be manageable on the spool of a spinning or baitcasting reel, but still. Tough, thin, and strongest I've ever seen. Only for leaders, I suppose. ;D Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted January 19, 2010 Author Super User Posted January 19, 2010 Thanks, for everyone who had input and the votes. Looks like we have two winners! Quote
