Fish Man Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 anybody have any experiance with this lure. design is interesting and has good reviews on thir site but i was wondering if anyone here likes it or not Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 I love this lure, but I will say, it sucks around any type of cover (both weeds and wood). It is my prefered lure running over submerged weedbeds (as long as I don't get it into the weeds) and around docks. My largest LM bass last year came on this lure (though, it was only a 5lb. 4 oz. LM bass, which is no record breaker). Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 17, 2008 Super User Posted January 17, 2008 Just a heads up Redneck, don't always go by reviews of a companies bait on there own site. I have seen some of the reviews of certain products and some things will just make you laugh. Quote
Fish Man Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 yea Tin thats the main reason i asked because i wasnt sure if i could trust their reviews and i figured i could get some more info about it thanks Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 I have one, I don't care for it. I got a blue/black one, but changed to the skirt to Green/White... My favorite color for spinnerbaits is Green and White and I usually throw either tandem willow leaf, or tandem colorado blades. The tornado doesn't come close to matching the production of a normal spinnerbait. I tried to give the tornado a fair amount of time versus my regular spinners, but I grow bored quickly and switched up. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted January 17, 2008 Super User Posted January 17, 2008 I do not care for it at all. Allen Quote
Super User Marty Posted January 18, 2008 Super User Posted January 18, 2008 I had one for many years until it snagged and I had to break it off a couple of years ago. I thought it was a good lure, but didn't think it was any more or less effective than more conventional spinnerbaits. If I remember correctly, this bait has stronger wire than many other spinnerbaits. It is felt by some that thinner wire allows the blades to give off more vibration. Whether that's true or not, I don't know, but regardless, I didn't think it made much difference in drawing strikes. But the thicker wire made it more durable in my opinion. I certainly wouldn't discourage anyone who wanted to try it. Quote
dman Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 isnt this like a "wake" spinnerbait type thing, running just barely under the surface? Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted January 18, 2008 Super User Posted January 18, 2008 I was trying to figure out what the difference was between it and the terminator hybrid blade? The tornado has been out a long time now and the terminator is kinda new. Quote
Super User Marty Posted January 19, 2008 Super User Posted January 19, 2008 isnt this like a "wake" spinnerbait type thing, running just barely under the surface? They promote it as a versatile lure, both spinnerbait and buzzbait, which presumably would cover the in-between territory. However, I only used it as a spinnerbait. Quote
