I had been using a regular nail clipper for mono and fluoro that I put on a lanyard around my neck so it was always handy.  I then used a pocket knife to cut braid.

My last trip out I lost the lanyard and clippers.  Since I want to replace it I thought I would ask here what everyone uses.  Is there something I can hang around my neck that will cut mono, fluoro, and braid?

I don't know if you'd want to hang these around you neck, but Gerber makes an awesome 2.5" pair of scissors made for cutting line. I love them to death. They sale for $2 a pair at Academy.

Sure, just get the safety scissors that kids use for crafts. Fiskars are avalable at a lot of locations, Walmart, K-Mart, Target, drug stores, etc

They cut just as well as the so-called braid scissors and are less expensive.

I got a small pair of titanium scissors from the craft section at wally world.  Had 'em in the boat 3 years and no rust which is why I went with the titanium.  They are still very sharp too.  I use those mostly on braid and still use the clips for floro/mono. ;)

I do carry a nail clippers, but for braid, as was mentioned above, an inexpensive Fiskars kids scissors does very well.

Another note about cutting braid, I seem to misplace my scissors occasionally even though they have bright green handles, and I use fingernail clippers to cut the braid. All you need to do is close the clippers on the line and pull them perpendicular to the line like in a cutting motion-works great if the clippers are sharp.

Bic lighter or cigarette to cut braid, puts a little nib on the tag end too so the line will never pull thru.  For mono any pliers will do.
