lk ozark Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I have used MH rods exclusively for plastics. I recently got a 7'2" MF rod ( Cumara -got a good deal ), can I use this for T-Rig and weightless senkos ? Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 Of course, I wouldn't go throwing 1oz jigs into heavy cover but for average t-rigs, weightless plastics, shakey heads, tubes, etc. it should be a great rod. Quote
Blade-Runner Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Nope, you're not allowed to use this rod for T-rig or weightless senkos. Sorry. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 Absolutly..Yes, it will work, I have a spinning, and a BC, that are MF for plastic's, I even throw spinners, and weightless plastics with them too. I have to say, in some cases I would prefer a mhf..I'm saving up for my custom made mhf.. Quote
tnbassfisher Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I have a MF All Star G40X that I used as my soft plastic rod. Yours should work perfect! Quote
lapieza Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Of course. I use my MBR842 for shakey heads as well as the occasional senko and love it. Quote
lapieza Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Just to make sure. You are talking about Medium Power Fast Action and not Moderate fast action correct? I dont like mod. fast action for plastics but some people do. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 Med. Power Fast Action fine for most single hook baits ? Power Med. Fast Action fine for treble hook applications. Quote
Super User Raul Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 I fish soft plastics strating from a UL all the way up to a XH. It 's a matter of: 1.- rigging the bait to compensate the power of the rod. 2.- using the right hook setting technique for the power of the rod. Quote
d.hark Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Just to make sure. You are talking about Medium Power Fast Action and not Moderate fast action correct? I dont like mod. fast action for plastics but some people do. exactly the action is what you are looking for in a soft plastic rod. Fast or extra fast is what you want. So when you say you got a MF I assume its a medium/fast action and you should be fine with that assuming you aint gonna being throwing to heavy cover. Quote
midnighthrasher Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I use a medium fast 6'8 cumara spinning for a lot of tubes and weightless plastics. Also inline spinners and basically anything light weight. This rod casts a fat ika or a 5" senko like a rocket I also have a 6'8 medium heavy extra fast casting i use for weighted plastics. 1/4 oz tubes or heavier. Hollow belly swimbaits When its spinning i prefer a medium and when its casting i prefer a MH. Quote
