OK, with it being below zero here, I am doing everything I can do to not go crazy from lack of fishing.

I have done inventory, etc... and made my lists.

But I am going nuts on the choice of lines for my setups....maybe you guys can help?

Here goes:

7' MH, XF CASTING - SPINNERBAITS, LIPLESS CRANKS, SMALLER SWIMBAITS 1 OZ AND UNDER, TOPWATER

7' H, XF CASTING - JIGS, CREATURE BAITS, TOPWATER

6' 6" M, F CASTING - HOLLOW BODY SWIMBAITS, SMALLER CRANK BAITS, SMALLER SPINNERBAITS, SENCO, PLASTIC WORMS WITH BULLET WEIGHTS

6' 6" M, F SPINNING - STICKBAITS, SMALLER BILL'D CRANKBAITS, SENCO, PLASTIC WORMS WITH BULLET WEIGHTS

6' 8" M, XF SPINNING - DROPSHOT AND SHAKEYHEAD

Not so much concerned with brands.  I usually use Suffix (braid and mono), Fireline, Yo-Zuri regular and soft.  I use 6lb and 15lb Yo-Zuri hybrid for leaders.

What do you suggest guys?  Thanks in advance.

I would do the following:

7' MHXF 20-25 lb. Mono.

7' HXF 17 lb Floro. (I don't like this rod for top water)

6' 6" M Casting 15 lb Floro or Hybrid

6'6" Spinning 20lb braid with Floro leader

Roadwarrior I am glad you posted, I thought you used the yo-zuri and knew something about it.

I have been using the yo zuri as a leader, do you seen a big difference of using mono and yo zuri as a leader as opposed to using it on your whole spool?

What do you think about the 15lb yo zuri soft?  Is it too stiff or ineffective flipping with?  Is 12lb strong enough to flip 1oz baits with all the slop?

The heaviest Yo-Zuri Hybrid I fish is #15 on a reel

used for striper fishing. I would be fine for flippin

and casting heavier lures. A fish cannot break the

line, but be careful, it's difficult to break when you

need to!
