Mid-MO Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I'm in the middle of reorganizing my tackle. The one thing giving me trouble is how to better organize my hooks and sinkers. Nothing comes in similar packaging, the standard Plano utility type boxes don't always work well. I ordered some smaller plastic boxes off of Netcraft - which was ok - but the don't fit the molded rows in the utility boxes real well. I'm sure someone out there has a good idea (and hopefully pictures). Anybody help me out? Quote
flippin4it. Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Falcon makes the storage box your looking for. Quote
Branuss04 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 It's all about the falcon. Its $10 but it will be one of the best 10 dollar investments. I've tried so many things to organize my terminal, from adjustable boxes that I super glued the dividers, to non adjustable boxes. But I ended up with the same mess, hooks mixed with sinkers, mixed with weights, mixed with swivels. It was all the same. With the falcon, I could put it in the dryer for hours and everything would stay in it's place. By far the best out there. Quote
Mid-MO Posted January 13, 2008 Author Posted January 13, 2008 I've got the Falcon boxes for jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. I've looked at the terminal box but it doesn't really fit what I have (I've got wide gap hooks and standard offset straight shank hooks for example). I'm wanting something that provides some versatility/flexibility. Quote
Cajun1977 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 how wouldnt it hold your hooks? i have 2 of those boxes 1 for all my hooks including 6/0 wide gap and 1 box for weights. Quote
bmadd Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I like the low profile plano boxes (3701) for my terminal tackle. I just put a small piece of masking tape on each end of the divider before putting them in the slots. Haven't had a problem yet. Braden Quote

It holds all of my big hooks no problem. Just cause they are labeled 1/0, 2/0, etc doesn't mean you HAVE to put that item in there. Quote
Mid-MO Posted January 15, 2008 Author Posted January 15, 2008 Went ahead and bought the Falcon box and it worked better than I anticipated. It's not perfect, but much better than any other option I've found. Intersting to note, the guy at Bass Pro told me Plano had bought Falcon out on the boxes and would be making the same thing at a slightly lower price. Anybody else heard this? Quote
links_man2 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I have had the Falcon Terminal tackle box for little over a year and really like it. Only problem is that the small stuff, small hooks, swivels, toothpicks acn change compartments due to the gap between the top of the dividers and the lid. Someone mentioned putting masking tape along the top edge of dividers. I went to Lowes and got some thin foam shelf liner and glued it inside the top of the lid. Just thick enough to seal between lid and top of dividers. Plus if I add/change dividers no need to retape. Quote

Anybody else heard this? Mid-MO - This is not a rumor/conjecture, after seeing your comment, I emailed Falcon Cust Svc and they sent me a fax of the announcement. Basically, it says Plano entered into an agreement with Falcon Rods to: "...manufacture and market the Falcon FTO line of tackle organizers formerly distributed by Falcon Rods. This agreement does not pertain to any Falcon Rods SKU's or other Falcon branded products that will continue to be fistributed exclusively by Falcon Rods." This was effective 1/1/2008. Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Here is what I use: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat600036_TGP&id=0036308120691a&navCount=2&podId=0036308&parentId=cat600036&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IJ&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat600036&hasJS=true I purchased the 3600 model and it fits right in the front pocket of my tackle bag. I placed all the hooks in the zippered pockets on the binder, and all my weights, extra skirts, split rings, clips, Carolina Rigging items, etc. in the zippered pages. It works very good for me and I don't have to worry about the split rings or clips going all over the place. Quote
