Just wondering who has the better House brand rods and reels, as y'all know Cabela's currently has $20 off $100 orders but BPS has the Extreme rod and reels for $100, just from the specs the BPS rods seem better but the Cabelas reels are better specd for the price.

is there really a difference? are they the same just different label?

chime in and help me spend my money wisely...lol

it either Cabela's below

I 've fished with BPS rods ( Bionic Blade, Extreme, Johnny Morris ) and as for the blank I find them to be good rods, what I hate is the PowerHumpGrip. I still own a couple of the now discontinued Bassmater series rods, they are nice rods, btw, those don 't have the hump grip.

They are pretty equal if you ask me.

Out of your choices i like Cabela's rod best because there is no cork/foam in front of the reel.I prefer my finger on the blank.BPS power hump on their handle can get annoying after awhile.

As far as reels go,it's pretty close...I've have used both and i liked the Extreme just a little bit more.Hard to explain why,but the extremes just felt better in my hands and cranking them.

I have the BPS Extreme Combo and like it. I have owned several Extreme rods in the past and never had any issues with them. This is my first BPS reel and so far I like it.

I currenlt have the BPS Rick Clunn BC rod, and an older BPS Extrem BC reel. Never tried a cabela's product.

I like my rod, for the $$ it's comfy, fairly sensitive, and does other things besides tossin worms.

The reel........well mine is kinda "touchy" i.e. adjustments are very critical..like the spool tension, to much and cast's suffer big time, to little and major overrun, plus the tension affects the play in the spool itself..whereas my other reel doesn't experience that, but it cost alot more. Overall the bps is a good deal if you get em on sale. I think the rod is o.k. for the $$$ on sale and it's a good deal.

Knowing what I know now, I probably would have bought other brands...I won't say which ones, as not to start a "brands" loyalty thang here.. :-X
