barroncooper Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 my father in law has an energy pt that hasn't been used in a couple of years. the retrieve is very rough and I thought i'd clean and relube. problem is how to you take the thing apart? also the cast control is very finicky on this reel. is this pretty common with these reels. seems like one click on the palm side is the difference between backlash or not. s13john Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 to take the handle off you push down the lil round black thing and then twist it off counter clockwise. the sideplate release is under it levelwind on the left side. remove the spool and levelwind shroud it should expose all the screws. i think thats all im sure if i missed something someone else will pick it up ;D ;D Quote
barroncooper Posted December 25, 2009 Author Posted December 25, 2009 I see the sideplate release and when I pull or push it i cant make the sideplate come apart. does the release let the levelwind cover come off or the sideplate Quote
brophog Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Push the release lever towards the center of the reel. The sideplate will then rotate down (counterclockwise), exposing the spool. http://www.quantumfishing.com/bps/zebco/tackleservice/knowledge/e100hpt%20schematic.pdf Quote
