I love it !! The first step in curing an addiction is admitting you have one. The second step is not flaunting it. Looks like you past hope. ;D

In all seriousness...you might want to check your home owners insurance policy. Many policies only cover sporting goods up to a $500.00 cap. After that you will need a binder with an itemized list....LIKE THIS ONE !

Merry Christmas !!

I know I should sell some, but just cannot part with any on them.

Now rods are a different story, don't have near as many and sell and trade them all the time.

Hmmm...I may have the same addiction:

61 Baitcasting Reels

28 Spinning Reels

10 Fly Reels

The only cure is to buy more.

Must be a pain to clean all that....

That which does not kill me makes me stronger.

You have admitted you have a problem, but until you've hit bottom there's little hope of recovery. My advice to you is to continue to feed your addiction.

My addiction is fine with rods and reels. Mine is mainly soft plastics. If I see a couple of packs for a good price, I think, "A man would be a fool not to buy those", and so I do. I can normally do good work on a clearance bin.

I am the same way and probably have more soft plastics than I will use in 100 lifetimes.

I get bugged about this subject at work frequently.  How many rods & reels you got?

My answer is I'm not sure and I don't want to know.  I know for sure (probably) that most artists don't use the same brush all day every day.

I've been known to point out that everyone is addicted to something.  If I had a cocaine issue, all I'd have to show for it at the end of the day would be a runny nose.  In that context, a 20 x 40 shed full of fishing tackle doesn't seem so bad.  It's not all fishing tackle, my fishing truck and boat go in the shed too.

It is challenging, which is why I keep a detailed spreadsheet of when the reel was last cleaned, when the line was put on (also, what type of line), upgrades made if any, etc.  MY wife thinks I'm crazy, because I keep telling her, "Just one more reel and my collection will be complete," which it never is.  For example, I went salmon fishing for the first time this past September, which means I had to get two trolling rods and line counting reels, plus a 9 wt. fly rod with reel (I mean, you have to have the right gear for the job).  So for one outing, I added three more combos, and I fish for everything that swims.  I really think it is an illness.  The sad part is I think I get as much joy out of just playing with my stuff as I do using it.

Precisely the reason I learned years ago to just shut up when my better half came home with yet another pair of shoes.....
