Dixon Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 To go on a quantum kvd 6 10 casting rod. What reel should I get? 150 to 300 dollar range. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 18, 2009 Super User Posted December 18, 2009 Curado CU200E7 ~ $150 or Core 50Mg7 ~ $290. I have recently bought both of these reels, NIB, at these prices on our Flea Market. -Kent Quote

zerofivenismo Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Holy schnikeys! That's a great price range for a first baitcaster. You will not be disappointed with any TD's or Shimano's in that range. Good luck running from the bait monkey. Quote
central.PA.bass Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Get a Revo STX($199) or a Revo S (100-129 depending on where you look).. They give you the best bang for your buck IMO... Don't shy away from a shimano either.. there is a billion guys on this forum who love them Quote

okiefisher8 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 You cant go wrong with a shimano. Ive got a few curados and love them. Looking to get a core 50mg just dont have the money right now. I have heard good things about the revo line as well. havent tried any though. You can find some good deals on last years model of the premier out there Quote
jamarkwe Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 For $300 you can get 2 Citica's off Ebay shipped and have $100 left over to buy another casting rod. Than you have two nice setups to learn on. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Dixon, I assume you bought this rod for crankbaits. If you want to run deep divers get the Revo Winch for sure. If you want more of an all around, the Revo STX 6.4 to 1 gets my vote. Quote
nubasser Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I like the revos and the curados.I would say go to a tackle dealer that stocks several types of reels and see how each one feels maybe try them on a rod like you have.I bought a Revo S not so long ago and it was agreat starter real for about a hundo$Of course my local Gander Mountain just had the Daiwa Steez 103 for under $300 dollars (brand new but last years model). This would be the nicest Reel for you Quote

If you want more of an all around, the Revo STX 6.4 to 1 gets my vote. It could be the older Tour Edition PT KVD spinnerbait rod (PTC6106FKV). If so, it's an excellent rod and a heck of a bargain @ $80 on Ebay. I have one paired with a Curado 200e7 and couldn't be happier with the combo. Quote
