xxroosterxx Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I need your guys thoughts on which reel i should use for finesse fishing. I have a fuego and a revo premier that i could use. which one will be able to handle lighter baits better and light test fluorocarbon line better. Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted December 12, 2009 Super User Posted December 12, 2009 i would think either would do the job fine. me being a Daiwa fan id pick on the Fuego. Quote
nubasser Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Maybe spool them both up with the floro and put each one on the finesse rod and see which one works better for you.Practice with each one with one may feel better to you for the technique.Palmability will vary person to person so, I would guess the easiest for you to palm would be the best.I like how my revo palms for me,but You may like the daiwa. Also one may balance better on your rod.Thats the nice thing about having different rods and reels, you can always switch up your setups,I find myself changing things of course I'm still kind of a beginner at bass fishing. bassattackerdad Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Are you intent on a baitcaster for finesse fishing? We use spinning gear for most of our finesse presentations. I couldn't imagine drop shotting with a baitcaster! And their a a lot of small baits you just can't throw on a baitcaster. It seems to me that the spinning setup is more suitable for finesse techniques in general. We like the smaller 2500 series style reels with 6-8 lb test floro or mono, depending on apps. 6.5-7' rod with stiff but and very sensitive tip. Rogue Rods makes a great dropshot rod for about 225-250. www.roguerods.com Quote
