Fat-G Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 If you had to pick ONE reel, ONE rod, and ONE spool of line (brand and lb test) for ONE whole year of fishing, what would it be. You don't have to own it, or have ever touched it. Quote

SWMIBASSER Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Loomis GLX BCR 853. Abu Revo, Avail spool centrifugal, 7.1 Duralumin gears from the Akatsuki Elite, orange seal bearings, ceramic Pawl, BassArt carbon handle, Carbontex swept handle, custom anodized swept drag star, and a custom paint job. Some sort of half green/half bronze-ish color scheme to represent large and smallmouth bass. Yo-Zuri Hybrid, 10lb The reel is going to be a winter project. The rod....I'll just stick with the my Mossyback version of it. It would suck picking just one. I would miss having a spinning rod. Quote

SWMIBASSER Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 In thinking about this thread I've come to the conclusion that the baitcaster really is more versatile. It just seems like even spinning tackle presentations can be accomplished on baitcasting equipment. And it isn't visa versa. I can't see pitching a jig with a spinning rod, and I honestly can't stand using moving baits with a spinning rod. Cranks etc. Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 10, 2009 Super User Posted December 10, 2009 This combo is always with me, it has caught hundreds of fish from 1# runners to 40+# tarpon, used sea walls, piers and surf. 7'6 Hurricane Redbone med 8/17 with a Abu Soron 40, 15# PP, 30# Ande leader, also my longest casting combo. Not my prettiest or smoothest but prefer it to my Stradic and Cabo of same size. Quote
