central.PA.bass Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I don't know how good of rod's USA Custom makes and I don't have any personal experience with Ardent Reels, but you cannot tell me that there would be a cooler looking combination than this! I would like to get one just to try out but Ardent only makes RH reels.. does anybody know the reason for them only making reels for righties? USA Custom Camo Stix Ardent C400 Fishoflauge reel Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted December 8, 2009 Super User Posted December 8, 2009 When Bantum1, the Shimano rep was asked that question about some of their reels, his response was the market wasn't big enough to justify the cost of manufacturing LH reels in all models. I would guess that is the case with Ardent as well. The selection of LH reels is getting better, but still limited for those of us who use the correct hand to reel with. Quote
SWMIBASSER Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 The problem with those reels, is that they are really wide on each side of the reel post. To me anyway, that makes for a really uncomfortable feeling reel. Quote
ArcticCat500 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I wouldnt care either way, I'd buy it to hang up in my shop, I think its cool ;D Quote
fathom Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 i'd buy that combo just to toss it in back of the pickup and ride it around. Quote

Clyde Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I think i would figure out a way to hang that combo in the back window on the gun rack. Quote
Rebel Angler Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 man I'd love to have that rod. Even if it's not that nice, hey it looks awesome Quote
Kowen117 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 but is it that nice? I'm looking for a nice cranking rod or topwater and this looks sweet what brand is that rod i have never heard of USA custom are they any good? Quote
OIFBasser Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 The rods are reasonably priced at $99-109. I am contemplating getting one to check it out. The reel, I can't find for sale anywhere. All I'm finding are the news releases. They may not be available yet. Another option for camoflauge rods is Castaway, they have two versions with a few more paterns $119 and $299 Quote
