I asked a few days ago what rods would be good for a variety of fishing techniques and severl guys said they really liked the Vendetta series.

Which Vendetta rods would yall recommend so that I can cover all the fishing styles and techniques such as shallow/deep crankin, using spinners, solf plastics, frogs/topwaters, jigs, etc.

help me out pleassse

thanks!

If I had to get 3 it'd probably be the 7'M and 7'3"MH casting. Those 2 alone should cover quite a bit so I'd go with the 6'9" ML spinning for the third. But since you have a ML spinning I'd get the 6'6" MH casting for jerkbaits and lighter spinnerbaits since I like a shorter rod for those 2 techniques.

I'll give it a shot.  To start with, most people prefer a different rod for shallow cranking and deep cranking.  The one used for deep cranking is usually a little stronger, but with a slower action.  I think the VTC70-5 would be great for shallow/lipless cranks with it's Moderate Fast action.  I would get the VTC73-6 for deep cranks since it's a MH with a Moderate action.  For frogs/heavy jigs I would get either the VTC73-7 or the VTC76-7.  For lighter jigs and weighted plastics I would get either the VTC70-6 or the VTC69-6.  The VTC76-6 seems like a swimbait rod...it's rated all the way to 3 oz's.  Were you wanting to get 3 casting rods or do you want a spinning on in the mix?  A little more info would be great.

Well I've got a 6' 6" falcon medium-light action spinning rod now. I'm tryin to get a solid rod arsenal to cover all lure selections.

Are you wanting to get into baitcasters or keep using spinning?

Could you please elaborate on the nature of your problems with the Vengeance?  Thanks!

Have heard the foam indents easily on both series but haven't really heard anything too bad, I too am interested in how it "came apart".  To me the vengeance looks like a heck of a deal and I would definitely like to try one out

I currently own 2 Vendettas and just order the third earlier this morning.  These rods are tournament grade that happen to be priced very well.

If you're set on vendettas thats cool,But i just received my berkley series one rods from cabelas I got a 6'6"mh and a 7' mh for $39.99 and $49.99 each. These retail at $85-100.They are great rods for mid priced.they do not have a split grip like the vendettas.I will say though that I can't afford a $300+ rod like a G loomis or Daiwa Steez. If you are set on a vendetta i would be interested in how you like them.

I posted a question about Vendetta rods on here a while back an some guys said they liked the Vendetta series an I really like the look of the rod.

sorry forget to check back on this topic.. i had an issue with the guide inserts falling out after 2 weeks.. i returned it to tackle warehouse and exchanged it for a shimao clarus which was about 15 bucks more..

the shimano isnt as flashy but i know it will be a good stick that will hold up..

These new Abus are selling on how cool they look but i do not think they are constructed to well.. The few times I fished with mine i did like it and wasnt that bad of a rod was just upset the guide inserts fell out like that

Maybe I have missed it, but does anyone know how many guides these rods have?

I saw on another forum that the 7' has 8;  7 guides + the tip. Can't speak for the other lengths.

Maybe it was just a bad lemon. Everyone ends up with one every once and a while.

The Abu's do look great have not tried one but I have bought some of the New Skeet Reese Series Wright and McGill rods and they are sweet they are black and Yellow and are flashy but I like them and they have a lifetime warranty my local tackle shop will replace them on the spot. My favorite one is the 7'-6" Swimbait/Carolina Rig Rod. These rods are $89.99 almost everywhere I would check them out before I mad a decision they are designed for the Abu Garcia Revo's specifically but will work well with any reel. I dont think you can go wrong with them IMO. Good Luck!

The Vendetta's blank is pretty good, and Abu designed it well. Moving the reel seat up is something that I can't understand why other manufacturers don't do. The Vendetta's looks get people to pick it up, and the balance makes them buy it. Competitors like the Mojo would float in your hand if St. Croix would simply move the reel seat up 2 or 3 inches. Anyway, the rod that is a must have is the 7'6" MH. This is a poor man's BCR893. It is pretty light and balances well for a 7'6" stick.

Sounds like an awesome C-Rig or flipping rod.  Does it have lots of backbone?

I only have the 6'3" M stick, I've used it for alot of different applications, cranks/spinners/buzz/senko's.  And this lil stick has a tremendous amount of backbone IMHO.  So I can just imagine how the 7'6"  MH would be

It sounds like I am just gonna have to go get my hands on one of these.  This and the Bucoo are the only budget rods that have interested me at all really.

I look forward to handling one of these.

When/if you pick one up, please report back to us.  I would love to hear others opinions on this same stick

That skeet reese rod has really nice grips on it and feels nice holding it, but that highlighter yellow looks hideous and it doesn't seem to balance as well as the vendetta. I can't wait to check out the BuCoo's though.
