Bayou Bass Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Anybody tried one? I have been in the market for a new rod recently and after spending some time at cabelas I decided that I want to go with a Lowrider. The sales associate told me that they are carrying the split grip version of this rod online now, but they did not have it in the store. How does this rod balance? I used to fish with a Lowrider that I really liked, but I have never handled the split grip version of this rod. Thanks for the input. Quote
OIFBasser Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 I have 3 Lowriders, but not split grips. They are awesome rods for the price. The split grips would just be a tad lighter, than traditional grips. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted November 29, 2009 Super User Posted November 29, 2009 I scored a Lowrider XG at *** for $87.99. It's not the split grip Lowrider, but a rod like this for under $100 and free shipping is a sweet deal. *** is giving 20% off just about everything but it ends today. Bayou Bass Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 I guess I am somewhat concerned that that the extra weight out of the grip might make the rod more tip heavy. Probably won't be an issue, but I wanted to check with you folks. Thanks Quote

NewAngler Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I've got the Shakey Head spinning rod, full grip. I love it. Its my favorite rod, I dont find it tip heavy in the least bit. Quote
