jamis Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Both of them are awesome reels, which one do you prefer and better. I'm very not sure which one to get. PS: Should i sell my 2007 quantum tour edition pt baitcasting reel? Thanks guys Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted November 20, 2009 Super User Posted November 20, 2009 Well, I have the 101 bpv chronarch. I compared the e7, as that was the reel I really wanted, But...I played around with the chronarch, and to me, it felt noticably smoother. On the downside, I would have prefered the faster ratio of the e7, so I have my chronarch as my dedicated swimbait reel, which it works very well at.. I doubt you'd be disapointed with either one..get the one that suits your application best. Quote
tennwalkinghorse Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Don't know about the 101 ,but have two E 7 and love them that is a hard reel to beat as for the Quantam I all so have a tour and thats a nice reel all so if there is notning wrong with it why sell it just buy other rod to put it on. Scorpio Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 I agree with Hammer. I have both reels and think the Chronarch 100 is a better reel. The only downside to the reel is that it is heavier than the Curado 200E. I have the 100BPV version also and it is an excellent cranking reel. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 20, 2009 Super User Posted November 20, 2009 Well, I have a few Shimano reels, including the Core, Calais, Metanium, Chronarch, CTE200GT, Scorpion and CH50MG. Of all the reels I own, regardless of price, I would recommend the new Curado 200E7. You really don't need to spend any more money for a great reel! 8-) Quote
Chris W Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 I agree with Road Warrior, I have almost every high end reel Shimano has ever made with the exception of a Calais, it was too heavy for me. The new Curado's are very hard to beat for the money. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted November 21, 2009 Super User Posted November 21, 2009 THose of you that have the High End Shimano's that are too heavy for you...feel free to pm me, I'll gladly take them off your hands for free.. Different strokes, for different folks.. Quote
jamis Posted November 21, 2009 Author Posted November 21, 2009 Alright thanks alot for your help. Happy fishing everyone Quote
Bayou Bass Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Fished with the new chronarch last weekend. I believe it was the 100D7. Anyway, it was incredibly smooth and really casted far. However, I have been using the Curado 200E7 since it came out and I can honestly say the chronarch is not that much better. I compared it to a curado that i just had serviced and the curado casted just as far as the chronarch, but the chronarch was smoother. 120$ smoother? I think not. Quote
SDoolittle Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I have the Chronarch 100b and the Chronarch 100bpv as well as a Curado. I got the Chronarchs on clearance from Tackle Warehouse for $186.00. If you can find a Chronarch 100b at that price, I would highly reccomend it. Quote
Primus Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Bird Dog I bought 3 of the Chronarch 100b reels from that same sale, I've been very pleased it's a fantastic reel. Quote
