the wife dragged me into a walls department store a few months after i retired...they had a shelf full of nib quantum spinning reels on sale for $19.99 each...at the time, bps was selling them for $139.00 each...i walked out with every one they had.

once bought 5 nib calais 100a's online for $200 apiece.

last year, bought 5 nib steez' for $275 apiece.

nib lew's bb1-ng for $20.00 at wally.

have been others but, those are the ones that stick in my memory.

Guess you wouldn't want to sell any of those Steez for $275, would you?

sorry.

them little buggers are addictive.

This all happened in two weeks.

1ST - Found a Shimano Calcutta 100dc on sale for $399.00 at TW, waited for labor day, which they then raised the price cause of their 15% off sale, so I called them up and they dropped it back and took 10% off so I paid $359.00.

2ND - Found a G-Loomis MBR782C GLX (old version) brand new, paid $150.00 at fishing show

3RD - Found another G-Loomis Bronzeback SMR812C at a Marina tackle store in the middle of BFE for $90.00 brand new with tags

I felt like I won the Lottery!!!!!!

Last year I picked up a Revo-S from a outdoor sports store that was getting rid of their fishing stock to make room for hunting season.  I paid $50 for it.

The Pro Max 3600 that I picked up at a yard sale last weekend for $5.00.

Or, a 5500C on a 6'6" Fenwick rod that I pulled out of Wilson Lake many years ago.  8-)

Got a Lews NIB, BB-1NG for $60, turned around and sold it for $260 on Ebay.

Also picked up a nearly new Morrum for around $50 on a forum.  Sold it on Ebay for around $200.

In the fall of '08, Pflueger Patriachs were selling for around $125 NIB. Bought around 5 of them.   Not anymore.   :-[

I got a St Croix 7' med. bait casting rod for free when Dicks forgot to charge my wife for it.

Hmm, my integrity or a fishing rod.  Which one do I value more?    :;)

Number 1 for me was a daiwa zillion from BPS in Ontario Canada for $179 (they retail for $327).

And number 2, I picked up 5 carrot stix 3 LTX and 2 golds for $300. They were used but in excellent condition.

I used to work at Sportsmans Warehouse and snagged a few good deals from there. Got them on sale + employee discount, and proformed the St. Croixs.

Loomis CBR845 for $145

2 Daiwa Sols, 1 was $130 and the other $110

Fenwick HMG 6'6" MH $70

St. Croix LTB 6'8" MXF spinning $105

St. Croix Mojo 6'9" MLXF spinning $40

Those are the deals on equipment. Now if we are talking lures, I'd say 90% of my tackle was reduced price of some sort. I'm a bargain hunter, hardly ever pay full price for anything.

St Croix Legend Tournament rods, $149.99 on clearance when they went to the split grip's, plus 40% off of that because of a friends discount. I got them for $89.99. I bought 3 at that price not to mention the 6 Avids that were on sale for $99, that I got for $59 with the same "discount"
