Clyde Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Well folks I probably have sucker written on my head but I have wasted 8 dollars on worse. What I am talking about is this reel I just bought on ebay. Its coming from japan so I dont know when I will get it but for 8 bucks with free shipping I just had to try. It looks like some of the older daiwa plastic reels. Heck they were made in japan too so it could be a copy of some kind. Anyway if anyone else is interested here is a linkhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390106254443&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_935wt_958 Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 4, 2009 Super User Posted November 4, 2009 You coulda sent me $4 and I would have pooted in your direction and you'd be better off - and saved $4. Seriously, though, you have to post some pictures and a review when you get that. That's awesome! ;D Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted November 4, 2009 Super User Posted November 4, 2009 The shipping alone should have been more than $8 Quote
CanalStalkin Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 I can hear the Shimano club marching to post in this thread right now. Quote
Clyde Posted November 4, 2009 Author Posted November 4, 2009 Yep I thought the shipping from japan should have been way more. Anyway like I said I've wasted 8 bucks. Hey I could easily throw 8 dollars worth of lures off the boat. Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 4, 2009 Super User Posted November 4, 2009 If anything, you can use it for a fishing weight. Quote
Clyde Posted November 4, 2009 Author Posted November 4, 2009 Hey its plastic I could use it for a float Quote
MattinOK Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 I enjoy the awesome directions on how to use it Using Method: - Push it to On side, the handle can't rotate back to draw back the line. - Pull it ot Off side, the handle can rotate back and front to free out the line - You can leading the fishing line through the DRAW-Ring and tighten and push the WIND - Switch to ON side and shake the handle if you want to wind line on roll. - This roll is very fit for permanent point fishing and it also used for throw-fishing. I like to throw fish with this type of reel with braid; however, the draw ring gets grooves. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted November 4, 2009 Super User Posted November 4, 2009 Use it as a Christmas ornament. ;D Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted November 4, 2009 Super User Posted November 4, 2009 I think you'll get more than $8 worth of enjoyment out of talking about your Japanese "throw-fishing" reel. ;D Quote
chasiubao73 Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Throw it off your boat and scream: "Fug U Whale!" Fug U Dorrrrrrrphin!" Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted November 4, 2009 Super User Posted November 4, 2009 Why not a beer can, some kite string and a "found" hook? That rig is almost free! Quote
NBR Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Hey if you can't cast with it you might be able to use it trolling ( I can't believe I used the T word ) or you can put some real heavy line on it and tie your bait knocker to it thereby having every thing neat, Quote
