Kamiahkid Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Have been looking in the local Cabela's at Kistler Helium Rods. I went in there yesterday, and they have the rods marked down to $89.99 from $350.00. Is there something wrong with these rods? Why the big mark down? I am really tempted now.... Fred Quote
Chris W Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 They are changing their rods again these are closeout models to make room for the new ones. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 20, 2009 Super User Posted October 20, 2009 Why didn't you ask them ? That'a a hell of a deal. Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 That must be an in store price because they don't have them marked down that low on the site but it is a great deal Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted October 20, 2009 Super User Posted October 20, 2009 Tell you what, let us know the sizes, I'll choose one, pay you for the rod and actual shipping and I'll let you know how they workout. Quote
Deputy Dave Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Kamiahkid, If that is in fact true then I would buy every one they had! I have alot of Kistler Rods (18) and I receive their monthly news letters that Trey puts out as well as frequent their website and I haven't heard a word about them changing anything. Chris W could you let me know where you heard about the change? I would be interested in knowing before I order a couple more during the off-season. The only thing I've heard recently is the introduction of their custom rods. Customers will be able to design the rod from the ground up. A regular price of $350 would have to be their top of the line Helium 2 LTX rod. I've not only ever seen this rod on sale but I've never seen it sold is a large chain store. What Cabelas is this? For that price, if they have several I'm up for a road trip!!! Quote

If that is the Helium II on sale, I'd almost be up for a trip to a Cabelas too, the nearest one is 5hrs but almost worth it.....almost Quote

Super User Dan: Posted October 21, 2009 Super User Posted October 21, 2009 Are you sure? That just can't be correct. If it is, go in and buy me the 7' MH LTX and I will send you $150. Seriously, I'm not kidding. Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Looks like the Kistler Argon Rods are going for $139.99 at least on the site for both the Spinning and Casting models. The LTA Casting is $199 and the Spinning LTA is $229 and the Carbon Steel Casting is $79 but the Spinning is still at the regular price as of this morning on the site. Quote
Stasher1 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Local BPS had a bunch of them marked down to $89.99 a few weeks ago. I thought about picking one up, but I really don't need any more rods...hell, I actually need to get rid of a couple. Quote
