chubaka Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Anyone tried this rod before? Im planning on getting one with a bass pro qualifier baitcaster. Quote
The Rooster Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Carrot Stix have been a hot topic around here in the past. Seems quality was an issue. I've never used one but they are very light in weight. I've read too much bad stuff about them recently for me to ever try one now. Quote
swilly78 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Well, here we go.... Since I didnt post on the last one Ill sneek it in here before its closed ;D I have a 6'9" mh fast caster with a quantum pt tour on its back. I LOVE this rod, and more importantly this combo. Its super light, super responsive, and overall extremely comfortable to use. The one drawback I could maybe admit to is the guide noise when using braid. It dosnt bother me, but ive heard from some guys who were very irritated with it. If you dont use braid, or wouldnt be bothered by a little extra noise, I would certainly recommend this rod. Also, I would suggest searching the forums before ya ask a question, this one really has been beat to death lately. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1247611940 I truely mean that as friendly advise, dont mean to be a jerk or step on any toes! chubaka Posted September 12, 2009 Author Posted September 12, 2009 Thanks for that swilly, i tried looking for other forums but couldn't find it, i guess i wasn't looking hard enough. Quote
swilly78 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 No sweat my friend! Im guilty of it myself at times. : Quote
The Rooster Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I remember when I made the mistake of posting about what size and color Senko to use. Got about 20 replies of people wanting to get in before the door was closed with hardly a single suggestion about what one to use. ;D That's how I found out they had been beaten to death here. Got a friend who made that mistake with the Banjo Minnow recently too. It happens. We all have fun here anyway though. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted September 12, 2009 Super User Posted September 12, 2009 I like mine, have an LTX and a Gold (not the classic gold). As light as you could possibly want and still feel comfortable with the right reel. The sensitivity of the gold surpasses the LTX but that's not surprising. Quote
fatmanslim247 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I own a 6'9 mh, and a cranking stick.... I love them to death. Just the fact that they are light and sensitive at a good price. Some people have had rod breaking issues, I have not. I will put it this way... I'm really hard on equipment, period, I miss a fish or lose one and something flys, I have bounced them off the tip and not broke one yet. There have been other manufacturers that have been having similiar issues lately, its just one of those things, stuff happens. E21 released that they figured out what was wrong and fixed the problem at hand. They are great rods and and a little out there color wise but I love them. Quote
central.PA.bass Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 i witnessed a friend of mines gold carrot stix snap just above the handle on a cast... i dunno if it was cracked previously or just a weak spot in the rod.. but it snapped.. Quote
camman Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I have the LTX Casting Extra Hvy 7'9. I use it for punching, flipping, tossing small swimbaits (6" hud), etc...I fish braid as well as mono on it and have no complaints. I can easily fish the rod all day with no problems. It has plenty of backbone to it, but still a decent tip to prevent me from pulling the hooks out of fish when I'm fishing braid. I think it really comes down to personal preference...you like the rod and the way it feels, get it...If you don't...don't get it Quote
tentimesover Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I had the E21 up until I lost it overboard a couple of weeks ago along with a Curado E. I fished with it for 4 months before it went over. At first I really liked how light the rod was and the split grip. I've already ordered the Curado to replace the lost one; however, I'm looking for something else for a rod. After time I began to not like that foam grip a lot and now am looking for something with cork. Quote

ALbasser Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 I have a Duckett series spinning rod. Its a great rod and I use it every time I go fishing. I doubt I'll ever buy another one, but I don't regret buying the one I have. I kicked it in the water a few weeks ago and I believe that is the fastest I have ever gone from sitting to leaning over the side of the boat in my life. I caught it before it went too deep though. aarogb Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 There great rods, you should get one. Quote
SJB1226 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 When they first came out I bought a bunch and then went back to my Steez, megabass and evergreen sticks.. and sold off all the ltx's and golds I bought cept for two a 6.9M parabolic and a 7' mh F the 6.9 is an amazing shallow crank rod one of the best ive ever used to tell the truth and the 7 MH I use for buzz frogs in mega slop with 65# braid because If i break it I dont care.. the rods are ok but not what everyone thought they was gonna be I lost so much money on the deal loosing 40-60 dollars a rod on about 25 rods but who cares cant cry over spilling a glass of milk right? if you want a GREAT rod in the 200 dollar range look at the Daiwa Zillions. there MUCH MUCH better rods. but if you need a cranking rod the 6.9 parabolic is a AMAZING rod. Super User Grey Wolf Posted September 29, 2009 Super User Posted September 29, 2009 SJB1226 let me get this straight , you bought 25 carrot stixs when they came out ? That qualifies you as a tackle junkie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
mwbrown Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 i have an orginal carrot stick 7'3 mh with a 7:1 pro qualifier. its a real nice combo, light but has enough power to rip a fish out of pretty much anywhere. I deffinetly think its a good rod although i think its a little over priced. i just got a new skeet reese rod and honestly it comes close you should look into those. but as for carrot stix i think its a matter of personal opinion. Super User Paul Roberts Posted October 12, 2009 Super User Posted October 12, 2009 Tackle Tour did a review of the e21. Interesting. Whether it's made out of carrot extracts anymore or not, it appears to be one of the lightest rod going -under 4oz for a 7-footer -that IS something different. Quote
