mja900 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 What is the best way to clean a spinning reel? And is it safe to run sink water over the reel? Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 6, 2009 Super User Posted October 6, 2009 The best way is to have a professional tear it down . Clean , relube it . It's fairly cheap , around 20.00 .This should be done once a year. Quote
kikstand454 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 always ALWAYS rince your reel off completely if you take it out in salt or brackish water. always. Quote

Super User .RM. Posted October 6, 2009 Super User Posted October 6, 2009 What is the best way to clean a spinning reel? And is it safe to run sink water over the reel? What reel is it? Yes do a fresh water bath only if the reel has been exposed to a salty environment... Spinning reels aren't as easy as baitcasting reels, so I would recommend a complete break down at least once a season (with regular use), use the links supplied...... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!! Quote
