Picked one up on Ebay for $40 brand new. Are thry any good? Im not a big Daiwa man but thought it was a good price so picked it up b/c of the 7:1 ratio to fish frogs and buzzbaits over the grass with braid. Not to sure about the twitch bar though. Seems kind of goofy to me.

I have a Daiwa Megaforce and a Daiwa Viento (both twiching bar reels).  The Viento is a better reel in performance and quality, but the Megaforce is a better Frog Reel.  When you press the twiching bar in rapid successions, that hollowed body frog will walk-the-dog perfectly, which I find very useful when I hit openings in the slop or lily pads.  The faster gear ratio of the Megaforce (compared to the Viento) helps it walks-the-dog much better when using the twiching bar, which is why I went back to the Megaforce for frogs over the Viento.  I do wish the Megaforce was a little smoother and lighter, but for the money, it is a good reel.  I think for the application you have in mind, you will be pleased.

I had the Megaforce and actually sold it here in the flea market and wished I had kept it. It was a very good reel at least to me. Never had any problems with it and the twiching bar (even though a little awkard) worked great with frogs and topwater popping baits for me. No its not as smooth as some other reels but for $40 (same price I think I paid for mine) its a great bargain reel. I also liked that fact that it was a 7:1 and even though being graphite it worked well.

I have a Megaforce and have had nothing but problems with it. In fact I've actually had two! The first had a problem where the twitching bar would get stuck over and over again. It got to the point where I would go to reel and the twitching bar would start snapping down on it's own. So I exchanged it and the same thing happened again after a couple months.
