Dose anyone have/fish with a Sol or Tierra model 2500?How does the Sol/Tierra compare with the Stradic? Does the lower gear ratio(4.7 in Sol) make a big difference vs the Stradic(6.0)? I like that the Daiwas have a bigger spool. This reel will be used on a IMX 783 for the wife. I posted a few days ago about putting a Stradic on ithe IMX but I may keep the reel and get her another one. Just looking for opinions.

I do own the Tierra 2500, and for the money it has to be one of the top reels in that range. ($110 shipped on eBay) I choose the Fuego over the SOL, so I cant comment on that.

I've fished a Stradic early on in the season and wasnt impressed, but thats me.   I wont dogged the Stradic its a fine reel, it just wasnt my style. I sold off all my She's this year and went to Daiwa spinning and Revo STX's for bc's.  And havnt looked back.

Daiwa spinning reels are super smooth right out of the box because they also have more bearings than a comparable Shimano, Shimanos become silky smooth with use.

In that size the Stradic is a lot faster than the Tierra/Sol, the Stradic has an IPT of pretty fast 34" while the Tierra/Sol only has 28", 6" mathematically speaking don 't seem like much but it 's a difference of 6" per turn of the handle, for example that would mean the difference between reeling in steadily a buzzbait and keeping it on top with little effort doing it with a Stradic while cranking like mad with a Tierra/sol to achieve the same result.  :)

I own the tierra 3000 and the sol 2500 but honestly wished I had waited for the new stradic instead. The tierra is nice but the handle feels flimsy and its also alot bulkier then a shimano imo. The sol is fantastic but I still dont love the handle.Tierra is a great reel for a hundred bucks on ebay tho. Dont make the mistake of gettin the 3000 like I did tho, its a tank of a reel. I hardly use either tho cuz Im usually using my baitcasters . IMO get the new stradic and be done with it, its much faster and you're gonna need it.
